Good to hear of your fathers change of heart, it that's how you say it.

Maybe the indifference you were feeling was a backbone. You seem to be getting on with things in your life, where your fathers approval, while gratifying, was no longer crucial. Perhaps he saw the change in you, and it caused him to reflect. Perhaps he stumbled upon this forum and read my harsh critiques.

Indifference is a symptom of depression. But it's common for people in their early 20s to set aside some emotional concerns. You get so busy with other things. There will be a time when you reflect on these events and you'll find that the emotions were always there, if somewhat muted. I don't know if that's good or bad either but it seems to happen like that for everyone.

I dunno, if you've spent a lot of time trying not to care what your dad thinks it's probably just residual apathy.
