Okay Skye has been teething for at least one and a half months now, on Sunday he will be 5months. So, we don't like using pain medicine, what other kinds, of remedys are there that we can use? He's got a fang on the right side that has popped through a little bit, and the rest of his gums are swollen, a lot. It's been this way for quite some time now. And he's been in a lot of sore aching pain. So, another question for anyone to answer is, when he's teething, or should say your kids teething, do they sleep a lot, and is it becasue of pain? He loves a sippy cup he knows how to hold one, and he likes them, so he can chew on them, I have been putting water in them, and he likes it. And I am exclusively breastfeeding him and he loves it.

I don't have kids of my own, but many nieces and nephews. I really think it all depends on the baby. When some were teething, it seems like they slept all the time. Others were up all night. Sometimes a damp washcloth, popped in the freezer for a few minutes, seems to feel good to chew on. Or teething rings that are safe to freeze. As far as actual remedies, Orajel was a lifesaver for my sister but as you don't want to use pain medicine I really don't know what to tell you. Sorry for the lack of info, but I hope this helps.

well what works for my son (Aiden) is getting a teething ring that you can put in the freezer. What you could do is buy a baby tooth brush and put it in the freezer and then give it to skye not only will the cold help the swelling but it will also help skye to learn how to brush his teeth and will massage the gums too. Basically give skye anything that is cold to chew on like his nuk,ice cube, wet cool wash cloth. I hope some of this will help you in some way good luck.

Try clove oil.. or a couple crushed cloves to rub on his gums.( clove has a safe and natural numbing affect)If he was eating solids I'd say let him chew on a frozen bagel.

Hyland's teething tablets. They are a homeopathic. They really work wonders. They dissolve on contact so there is no risk of choking. You should be able to get them at any drug store or grocery store. Call first though.

Also let him chew on anything safe. Teething toys, wet, cool washcloths. Maybe put ice water in the sippy cup. And nurse him as much as he'll nurse. Breastmilk is a natural pain reliever :)

chamomile is a pain reliever, and is safe for baby. Make some chamomile tea, and dribble a little bit in baby's mouth. when my babies were teething, the only thing that helped was to nurse them non-stop. try freezing a damp washcloth and giving that to him to gnaw on, or put some ice chips in one of those mesh baby-feeder thingys.

Something I've seen tried and is akin to the damp rag in the freezer, is to freeze a piece of fruit and give that to him to naw on. Not only is it cold so it's numbing, but it's sweet so it keeps his attention. :)

i use gripewater when leane's really upset, but teething rings are awsome. babies seem to love one's that the can bite on and it vibrates. and the wascloth thing is good, too. just make sure thier mouths don't get stuck to it.

He's really not to interested in a teething ring, he likes the sippy cup nipple, and hard things. Last night I gave him a peice of celery (long enough for me to hold and him to gnaw on) and he liked that, sometimes if my chin is clean, I let him gnaw on my chin and he likes that, also I give him my knuckles, and fingers. It's hard to tell when he needs the tylenol, I know when he throws his violent tempers but that's all the time and I don't want to give him tylenol all the time. I seen those disolvable tablets two nights ago before this post, but, on a website, I just don't think that they will disolve right away, and he might swallow them. Oh, by chance has any of you use them, so my mind could settle, if im wrong? And how much they might cost?

Aww...my second little guy started with a fang...:D It was cute and funny...

I just gave them gripe water, a cold jelly-filled teething ring (which neither liked) and toys to chew on...
