Hey, I've been thinking of getting my septum pierced and was just wondering if there was anyone here with that done and what they think of it...pain-wise, or anything else? I was also wondering...if you take it out, will the hole close up? I mean after some months or years. If I decide I don't want it anymore, will I have a hole in my nose forever? Thanks for any input.
i have had my septum pierced at 10 gauge. it doesnt hurt nearly as much as people make it out to be. yes, it will close up if you have it for awhile. unless your body just really doesnt want to close it. but so far, i havnt heard of anybody having trouble getting theirs to close. especially if it isnt a large size. mine is 7/16ths, so i dont really think mine will close, but mine was dermal punched. heh. i see youre in new york, are you in the city by any chance? if so, i highly insist on going to pure modifications in brooklyn. see: http://www.purebodyarts.com/ brian is an amazing modification artist.
I just got my septum pierced at 14G about 3 or so weeks ago. Septums are definitely one of my favorite piercings, I think they look great/beautiful on everyone (despite what some people say). As for pain, that's a hard thing for me to tell because I enjoy the pain of a needle puncturing my skin. Everyone says it's painful but I didn't think it was. And yes, the hole will close up if you take it out. Septums are also great because you can get a retainer and hide the piercing if you want. Go to www.bmezine.com and read the expierences. THere is also a pain poll at this forum: http://p196.ezboard.com/bbodypiercingtattooingandbodymodification
Thanks guys. Yeah, I'll definitely get this done some time soon, but I just need to find a good place to do it. I don't live in the city...I'm about an hour and 1/2 from it, but maybe I can go get it done when I'm there for a concert or something (not before though...that wouldn't be a smart idea) - haha. Anyway, thanks for the info!
I got my septum pierced at at 14 gauge about 3 years ago. It's now up to a 8gauge, and I love it to death. I can take mine out for a couple days if I need too... but I really don't. But I take it out for work, and it has never given me any trouble.
