I am at a roadblock I guess. I can't seem to be inspired to create anything right now and I'm sure it's the pressure of puting my protfolio together. I am trying to relax and read alot and let it flow into me but I am seriously stumped! I tend to read books about Charles Manson and the book will absorb me completley, to the point where it's all I want to do is readand learn more! Completyly counterproductive or is this something to work with? Would it be helpful to my process to put my cult obsession into my portfolio? Or is it too weird, everyone i know thinks my Charlie thing is a little too much. Should I put him in my art?

I personally like the idea of doing some Charlie stuff, but as to putting it in a portfolio, I guess it depends on what kind of a place/person it is that you're putting it together for. Some people may think it's an interesting idea, but then some may think you're crazy. Is the Portfolio specifically for an Art School? And how do you intend to use Manson in it?

you can put anything into your work that you want. you could just generalized ideas that are inspired from him, you knowing what it means and having the general public take from it what they want.

I had an idea to create a scene (photo) of a young girl's room (from, say 1970) and the wall behind her bed would be her 'crush' collage of hearts and multiple images of charlie. Since most girls obsess over celebrities of their time (at 12, I was head-over-heels with New kids on the Block, they covered my walls!) I think it would show a true to life image, twisted. It would show both my own obsession with manson as well as the time he was pure celebrity. He still has followers (not me though) people fell in love with him in 69' when he was on trial for murder! That fascinates me, his fame grew regardless of its' circumstance.

That sounds cool, I really doubt anyone would have a problem with that.
