Believe it or not Pete Townshend has done some classical music on Lifehouse Chronicles and its well good.

I quite liked classical for many years i luv this thing thats happened because all the classical music snobs can now shut up.

This type of music isnt for rich queen like fuks, its for people dreaming of great things on packed out tube trains, trust me.

Anyone besides me detect a strong similarity between the music of Pete Townshend and that of Zoltan Kodaly? I wonder if there is a conscious influence there?

Here's a tip-off: The BBC are gonnna do the same make-over analytical revival they did for Bob Dylan for: 'The Who',with the full participation of the remaining two original members.

Townshend is an absolute genius musically.

I have a little theory that when Hendrix died and they read the will, his musical spirit was divided equally between Pete Townshend, Neil Young, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. ;)

yeah...but townshend was a genius even while jimi was around...hell, Jimi "borrowd" a lot of genius from Pete, Robbie Krieger, ofcourse clapton and everybody ells from around that time

I think you're right..didn't The Who use Marshall stacks before anyone? Hendrix copied that iirc. Borrowing is always the way in music though, and Hendrix always paid back- with mega interest. ;)

Anyway, the 'theory' is based on the first solo album.. released in '72. Especially Pure and Easy, and Nothing Is Everything-- always make me think "hendrix reincarnated" for some reason.

    Pete Gay...hwaha that's a good one!

About the Marshall Stack...The Who (John & Pete) were always very much involved with the developments of there equipment...if it wasn't for the who we wouldn't have the 100 Watt marshall (this was a historic step, like landing on the moon! mind you)
speaking of moon, one of the main reasons for its development was John battleing with Keith, so they had teh stack first, then Eric came with his Gibson Les Paul/Marshall combo, and jimi picked that up.

kinda the same story behind the Wahwah, minus the who.

My mums taught his kids and said how parent friends had told her that he often went to the shed with certain men in his garden sometimes with his wife knowing because he is bi. It doesnt matter! The sooner the world gets over the ignorance of homophobia and sees the bigger picture then it will be a happier place.
