I've been a MJ smoker for about a year now and I have experienced some bad trips but I would imagine that would be because of my anxiety.
I was wondering what are shrooms like?
Are they as bad at the rest of the drugs like acid?
How are they similar to MJ, if they are?
And do they make you sick when you take them?:H

If you've had bad trips on weed you might be a bit uncomfortable with shrooms.

Shrooms are like smoking a hundred joints at once is the best way I can describe it to ya.

Yes, they're as...ummm, bad as acid and the rest of the drugs.

They are similiar to mj in that when you're on shrooms, a joint mellows you out about as much as a cig when you're straight.

    They might make you sick.

Smoking cannabis won't prepare you for the experience of Psychedelic drugs - I find the idea that the effects of Psilocybin are like smoking a lot of dope frankly laughable. If you have had nagative experiences with blow, you should think carefully before trying something infinitely more powerful. Be sure to read up on the subject, and be in a positive frame of mond, and in a good place, preferably with a good, trusted freind who has some experience of these things.

The idea that mushrooms are 'better 'than acid is also questionable. Neither substance is toxic to the body, but occaisionally. mushrooms can cause stomach upsets, which can colour the trip you have.

I would have to have more time to think about it - I would recommend Aldous Huxley's 'The Doors of Perception' as an account of the effect of psychedelic drugs in general with which I would largely agree.

The reason I say that smoking cannabis won't prepare you for mushrooms is that the effect of cannabis is quite mild by comparison, and easy to assimilate to day to day reality, whilst mushrooms can open the doors to other dimensions of consciousness - or in a negative case lead to an overwhelming confusion. Reality itself can appear radically different in a way far beyond the cannabis state.
The big thing to remember before taking mushrooms or any psychedelic is that its not going to do what you think its going to do, and it may be stronger than anticipated. This applies to all - novices and veterans alike.

Yeah, but he doesn't want to read a book,he asked us. The best answer to that same question asked by kids all across the country is best answered by 'its like smoking a hundred joints'. If all they've done is weed, xannies, alcohol, and coke, that will help them understand a general idea of shrooms. 'Mild by comparison' eh? that's why one hundred joints was referred to, get it? I posted to help give an answer, not try to smirk at someone elses reply. Its called being productive.

It is not like smoking 100 or 10000 joints!

I did say I'd think about it and come up with my own account - but I can't do it in 5 minutes! I'll post something on this thread in due course. I think that perhaps you don't give 'kids' today enough credit for their intelligence and recourcefulness. Anyone with a brain could do a quick web search for 'Huxley' and find extracts from his book which they could briefly dip into. Also theres
    www.erowid.org
where a number of accounts by ordinary users can be found. No such rescouces were available to me when I was a kid.I can only give advice as I see things, I'm not 'smirking' at all at you or anyone else.
The thing is, I've just had a weekend of seeing two persons known to me aged in their 30's take a single hit of acid at the wrong time, and watched the all-too-predictable consequences. Hence I think that it is important that people have some idea of the areas of consciousness they can wind up in.
Psychedelics are not just a 'party drug' - but to say what they are is not an easy thing.
My advice would be that whatever you think they're going to do is not what they're going to do, no matter what you've been told or read. If we knew in the ordinary 'flatland state' what the effects are in any meaningful way, there would be no point or need in taking them.

Shroom hallucinations are nothing like the weak hallucinations you can get from weed....Shroom hallucinations are so incredibly real and life like. Its like everything you see is art because of the beautiful colors.
