Hi, I was wondering how many of you wake up so that you can do yoga as the sunrising......that is what the masters supposedly do, so I am doing that now....I just did it for the first time this morning, it was a little harder for me to get into it.......but I think over all it will be a good routine to get into.

It's the best time of day for it. It's vitalises you for the day. I feel like there's better energy around at that time of day.

i definatley agree with that. the mid day in this suburb/city just doesnt feel right to me...i like the night and the morning much more when i spend time outdoors.. when the city quiets down a bit. not as many people runnin around being their chaotic selves... the energies a little more chilled and fresh, renewed.

gettin into a good natural sleep routine like the 'masters' is wonderful i think. wake with the day as your meant and connect with it as your meant.. but you cant force it either too y'know..gotta go with the flow and let what wants to unfold happen...

Yeah...I am sleeping a little better now because of it too......I do yoga and meditation before i go to bed to help me sleep.....and wake up before sunrise to greet the sun and then do the yogic sleep thing.....I have been getting to sleep on time, but i have noticed i wake up once every night to go pee and then go back to sleep....and I have been keeping a journal next to my bed to record my dreams....its kinda cool.

Have done it for years then for years not, then again... It's nice to be the only one awake when the silence of the am is still palpable. After that, noise all day... It's no wonder that that hour or two is great for inner peace - from 3:30-5:30 am is the time of Paraprakriti or when nature is most subtle... It's especially ideal if the Eastern early morning rays of the sun fall unobstructed upon your Eastern front door. Or window, if that is possible... especially good for yogas...

It's very easy to wake up at sunrise if you sleep outside....did it for two years...try to fall asleep by a creek...it's great...

IT is great! I practice yoga at sunrise and i feel the suns energy just surround me .. it's amazing! Falling asleep outside by a creek is wonderful ... the sound just puts me to sleep and that kind of atmosphere is perfect for meditation and chants. I am a massage therapist and a Reiki practitioner so those are very key elements in that for me. I find my spirit and energy from yoga every morning. It's nice to know that people are doing it the same time i am .. wouldn't it be awesome to have a yoga or medition meet with people from all over?? What an amazing energy field that would make!!

Well in India, of course such a thing is possible ;) Actually, there seem to be any number of ashrams that offer that thing. I went to Maharishi's college for four years. Not that I recommend that. But at that time I was considering Naropa in Boulder as well, and that is not saying anything about the various Ammachi, Muktananda, Yogananda, Raajneesh, and hundreds of smaller Buddhist communities, and maybe a Dao or two and some Iyengar and Power Yoga communities. That's it! That's what you would love is the Power Yoga group on Kauaii. They meet twice a day, and once at dawn I think. I would love that too, or not, as it's a pretty intense workout.

That sounds amazing! I knew such a thing was possible, but i just haven't heard of too many. I went to one in Missouri and it was more of a meditation circle. Very intense and a lot of fun. The power yoga group you in on Kauaii would absolutely be an amazing opportunity i will have to look into that do you know of how i could get ahold of more information??? I would greatly appreciate that:) I really enjoy the intense workouts sometimes. So how was Maharishi's college???? I have heard it's pretty interesting.

i do my yoga when it is still dark, around 7, i do it for an hour, so it gets lighter and lighet as my practice progresses, it jsut makes the rest of the day so much better when i do it early, i feel so much more at peace :)
