congratulations!!! i'm quite proud of you!!! I wish I were doing so well... I spent alot of time eatting "naughty" foods, late night snacking and drinking booze this weekend.
weighed myself today and I'm 159.6...grr... its ok though. I'm going to avoid going to excess on snacks and make sure to cook and eat. I am wondering if I should start using "mini-meals" as part of this diet, it worked for me before... I walked today for a while with friends. maybe about 10-15 mins. I am going to do some tai chi later today. After I walk the dog. I haven't practiced in a long time, I hope I still remember!
So how are things going with everyone? Ok for me...though nothing sounds better right now than a big bowl of ice creme!
i weighed 155 this past friday... pretty sweet. I'm gonna try to hit the gym tomorrow... I hope that I will continue losing weight...
^155, that's great! Sounds like you're really doing something right. Have you been able to make it to the gym? I'm going to try to go on a nice long beach hike on friday. It's funny the way things work out. I thought starting back up at school and work would hinder my weight loss because I wouldn't have enough time to plan out my meals and eat healthy, but the complete opposite has happened. I've been so busy that I'm having a hard time fitting in time to eat! And since I'm on a tight budget, I'm not even tempted to waste my money on fast food. I wait to eat until I get home, and because of the selection in my fridge and cupboards, I'm forced to eat and drink healthy.
Thanks weep! Though I'm feeling a little set-back right now. I'm probably just making excuses, but I feel crazy hungry whenever I start my period. Yesterday was kinda bad; I hadn't eaten like that in months. But I feel back to normal today. I'm making some vegetable soup and trying to make up for the damage I did yesterday. On a better note, I recently saw a bunch of pics of me from before I started to lose weight and I can't believe how different I look. I had a big stomach, fat arms and a ton of pink stretch marks that have nearly disappeared since I've gotten smaller. Quite amazing, I'll show you guys the before and after's in a couple weeks.
hey all, I am still weighing 154.6. pretty sweet.... now that school is back in session and I have a more regimented schedule I am going to attempt to start exercising. I put off exercising last week when I realised that my gym shoes were sooo run down that they were hurting my back and causing me palm pain... Since then I have gotten two pairs of new shoes. one of which I am dedicating to exercising. My idea is to hit the gym two or three times a week... i wish I had a exercise friend...
i've been eating good, if little.... i'm just not that hungry anymore. i'm sure that once i start exercising vigorously, i'll need more to eat. i did tai chi today for twenty minutes outside. it was kind of nice, i may have to start exercising outside.... its energizing. i am thinking about going vegetarian again... if i'm losing weight without regular exercise, exercising and going veg might really kick it into gear.
weighed myself today and i weighed 156... i think its cos i ate lots last night. i might be getting on an actual plan. the sattvic diet. its based on ayurvedic principles and should be alot of fun.
hey guys- so, I'm following this program caled the Sattva program. I'm going to be eating 1500 calories a day, consuming 2-3 servings of fruit, 5 servings of vegetables, 4-7 servings of grain/starch, 1-3 servings of beans , 3-4 servings of fats, 0-2 servings of dairy, 0-2 servings of animal foods throughout the day. its my first day and i'm feeling well. i'm not allowed to drink much soda or cold beverages so i'm going to start drinking tea often and carrying tea bags at all times. now my big problem is getting the exercise in... I have tons of time but I am also very good at wasting it. I might try to utilise my 3 days weekends better. I've decided on some exercises to work on. tai chi, yoga, stretching, calistetics, walking/jogging, biking, stair climbing (to classes and as exercise), and possibly rebounding if I can bring myself to it. Hopefully i can get into this thing. I'd love to have a slimmer more muscular body to enjoy life in...
i'm having a hard time dealing with my diet... I have been having lots of cravings and giving in to them. I need to discipline myself. I want to do this!!!
i had a "bad" weekend.. its so easy to use my visits to the boyfriend's house as a time for overeating or eating fattening foods. any ideas of ways to motivate myself??
Instead of saying "Absolutely NO junk food or treats", try the 90/10 approach. That is, have 90% of your consumption be of healthy food and drinks and the extra 10% can be used on a small amount of whatever you want. For example, fill your plate with broccoli, salad, brown rice and black beans--healthy, satisfying and delicious--then you can have that scoop of ice creme for dessert, or that beer. In my experience, over-eating or giving into junk-food cravings has a lot to do with nutritional deficiency, so if you give your body a balanced & healthy meal, it will no longer intensely crave the junk. Ex: I get the strongest cravings when I haven't consumed enough protein or good fat. If I remember correctly, you mentioned that you are vegetarian. Perhaps the restrictions on your diet are preventing you from easily getting in enough protein and healthy fats, so examine your diet and be sure you are getting enough to sustain you throughout the day. Back to the 90/10 approach... After eating this way for a while, you really get to love it. You start feeling great because of all the healthy food you are consuming, and you learn to really appreciate that 10%. It's worked out really well for me, perhaps it would work well for you too.
yea, i agree with lace, the 90/10 method is pretty good to use. i did that, but i found that i work better with eating healthy with minimal snack/junk food during the week and on sunday having 1 meal that is fatty or greasy, usually from a bar. that works really well for me. so i eat healthy, monday through sunday afternoon, then sunday evening i have buffalo chicken tenders, and fries and maybe soda. then during the week when i'm eating healthy, i don't crave anything. i might end up having a small bowl of ice cream, and even if i do that, its usually sherbert...so its not that bad. just find what works for you. above works for me and the cravings are, for the most part gone.
good advice guys.. no lacy, i used to be veg. i do think that i have a problem eating regularly and when I get hungry I just want what I want or I just eat whats fast. I am gonna try this 90/10 method, it sounds promising.... I need the little snacks and foods that I enjoy.. hopefully mom will let me be apart of the shopping a little more. (alot more) I think I should pick up my old plans to create a food hoard in my room so I don't have to depend on her so much.
grr, so I'm pissed. mom gave me a whole foods giftcard for xmas (i got it a few weeks ago) and I just found out that that money is supposed to be my food money. She said that she wont take me shopping with her or help me get any of the shit I need to make this diet work.
hey guys- so mom and I went shopping... stocked up a bit. This weekend I bought a 1980's aerobics tape...its pretty alright. I've done it once yet. I have a new exercise plan now. 45 mins of Aerobics/Aerobics with light weights 3 times a week, Tai Chi 4 times a week, and weight lifting 1-2 times a week..
hey hey yall, I weighed in at 153 today. I am excited!! I have been having trouble getting the workouts in but I still seem to be losing about a pound a week. Ayurveda recommends fasting once a week for weight loss, I am thinking about doing it. I really want to try to get into this exercise thing.
Hey guys, Down to 151.4 yaay, currently on the two week fat flush, day four, its kind of annoying and I am not sure its working but I'll keep it up....
