Hi, i'm just wondering if you can get a birthcontrol perscription from a walk-in clinic (not like planned parenthood or anything, just a regular walk-in clinic) or if have to go to my doctor or a specialty clinic? This is in canada, btw.
oh well im sorry i dont know how to deal with that in canada, i live in Panama and here you can actually walk in the drugstore and ask for them without prescription.
hmm, when I went to a walk in clinic about it a while ago, they gave me some samples (two or three months worth, I can't remember) and told me to come back for the prescription if I reacted fine to that brand of pill. hurrah I did! If you go to planned parenthood, they must administer a quick exam and I believe a pap smear as well, so you have to make your first visit coincide with when their doctor is around. Why not just go to your regular doctor, or make an appointment with another doctor and make them your regular one. It's a lot easier to keep track of things that way for them, and of any potential problems. remember, antibiotics reduce effectiveness of the pill while you're on it, you need to take it at about the same time every day, and it doesn't protect against STD's
yeah, a walk in doc will give you a Rx - most docs will wanna do a pelvic exam first to make sure it's all good, but you should be getting one anually if you are sexually active anyway.
