I have 110W pc fixture from my old fish tank. It contains 1 10k bulb, and a blue atinic bulb. I also have a 4ft 220w pc fixture with 2x 10k and 2x atinic. My question is will these lights work? What is the preferred Kelvin rating? Also I live in Cali, even now we get a shit load of sun, would that be sufficient? This will only be for one plant. BTW i do have MH bulbs in my SW Fishtank and these power compacts do compare.

you COULD grow with 1 120watt incandescent (and make it flower too!) depending on the strain.

light is light, just all depends on the results you desire. good luck.

Go back to junior high, light isn't just light. Differnt rays carry different specturms, incandescent bulbs don't have the right specturm for cannabis. You need somethign high in blue-white for veg and reder for flowering. Thouse bulbs will probally get you through a couple weeks or more veg. But, your plants will be alot healier with real sun-light, or soem full specturm floro's. You can get cheap floro's from just about any store. There only 20-40 dollars.
