See, that statement means more to me than complimenting my outside. THAT is what I value as my greatest asset.
Oh, and I'd like to add that I sometimes like to be dirty myself. Sometimes hanging out at the house all weekend with no shower can be quite liberating. Camping for 3 days at a festival with mud up to my knees...even better..:D .

:D Well, I've never had mud that far up before, but I probably wouldn't mind that either.

I checked in the official hippie manual and it said you can shower or bathe as much as twice a week and still be considered a true hippie. Showering every other day makes you a borderline poser and if you do it every day you are as one with the establishment. However, substitutions such as skinny dipping or standing on a street corner in the pouring rain are acceptable.

HAHAHA actually the TRUTH is....we have no running water. And I really have NOT had a bath in over 4 years....
Showers yes. We built a shower stall in the house and use a camp bag.
We now have plumbing but need to dig a second well..ours is still too shallow.

When I lived at the park some built a sauna with a pit inthe middle. Some of the guys would build a fire early in the day and heat up big rocks then load them on shovels and put them inside inthe pit.
Then we would all get nekkid and have buckets of water with tree branches full of leaves in them. Take the branches and shake water over the rocks to make a crazy amount of steam.....
AWW just sweat...oh yeah...sweat it all out. Then when your good and sweaty and you just can't stand it..you go running out and jump in the river....AAACCKK!!!!
    BRRRRRRRRRR!!
Then swim to the other side to the clay bank and rub clay all over each other and sit and bake till hard then jump back in the river aAACCCKK!! BRRR!!!

Then wash all the clay off each other (with a little help from Doc Bronner) then go back to the bank and climb out and pick the little leeches off...and bask in your cleanliness...mmmmmm

however Larry still says I'm a very dirty girl...hhmm..wonder what he means by that??lol

Haha, I know a hippie who's the biggest clean freak on earth. It's not uncommon to find her bleaching her ceiling to kill the germs. =)

I got to play in some pretty serious mud at Bonnaroo, 2004. We had the time of our lives...dancing around, falling, throwing mud at each other. All you could see on us was our teeth when we smiled.. :D I would definately recommend you doing that at least once in your life.. :)

Hey now, I didn't write the hippie manual, I just referred to it. Personally, my attitude toward cleanliness is: don't ask, don't tell.
