If I wake up naturally without any sort of alarm, I sleep 9 or 10, and sometimes even 11 hours. Every day. I don't think this is really a "problem", but it seems a little strange. What I'm curious about is how long do you usually sleep, but especially, has it been that way consistenly your whole life? Have you noticed any changes to your lifestyle that cause you to sleep more or less? Also, do you feel tired when you first wake up? Do you usually force yourself to get out of bed as soon as you wake up or do you lay there a while? (I'm curious about this because I'm almost always still tired when I wake up, and lay there a while sometimes falling back asleep)
Nah, nothing wrong, Im like that too, I could make 12 hours if not for having to pee (in the holidays). I love sleeping. Im not unhealthy, just the way I am. When Im working, I dont get tired, I just get used to having 8-9 hours sleep instead, and go to bed a bit earlier. I start to degenerate in-semester when I'm getting 7-8 hours if Im lucky. Some peole I know are fine on that much. Not me. People are just different like that. In saying that, I dont keep regular tabs on my iron levels, which does contribute and effects most females.
I need alot of sleep too. When I was a kid I would stay up late reading then I'd rarely get up before noon. Now I have to get up to get my kids off to school and if I want a shower before I go to school I have to be up by 5:30am. I go to bed around 10 and it is'nt nearly enough time on the rack. Plus I hate my bed and I'm a light sleeper so my husband keeps me up off an on all night long. The last three years have been a slow hell for sleeping. I have been batteling depression on many fronts and I believe with some tweaks as we can afford it I can regulate that better...but yeah I could go 10 deep hours and be golden. No matter what though, when the alarm goes off I am up *boing* the only time i don't respond with immediacy is if I am unwell. MY husband drives me insane...he sets his snooze for 45 min before he has to get up and I lay there waiting for it to go off every 15 min. He's right back asleep before he rolls over. I just don't understand...
i stay awake till i pass out (usually around 3 ,4 or 5) and I usually wake up at 7 or 8 am. Unless I’m in pain I just force myself to sleep but i don't really like to sleep so it's ok
I get about 5 hours of sleep on weekdays. sometimes six. On the weekends, I'm out like a light. sleep 13 hours sometimes.
i usually sleep like 9-10 hours on a weekday. (i need to get up early for school) but on weekends, or days off, i could sleep for 12, sometimes 13 hours!! i try to get some sleep at school too. ^_^! my friends tell me its unhealthy, but i dont think so. actually, i think i just sleep to escape from the waking world.
Usualy I go to the bed at 12am,or later, then I get up at 10,or later But I think it's not realy normal if you wake up tired (I do ,lately). And then it feels like you stuck down to your bed.. I hate to wake up like this, but I don't know what can cause this too.
Like some of you, I sleep very little. I drink a lot, so when I'm "passed out" (usually a dream-less state) I sleep longer, but on my own natural schedule, I've never slept more than 4-5 hours a day.
my total hours of sleep in a 24 hour period can often add up to ten or twelve. a lot of this has to do with not always being able to get them in one chunk. and if i nap for less then five hours my body tells me it want's to sleep just as much as if i hadn't napped at all. in principal we ought to be able to get by on 2.5 hours of r.e.m. plus 2 hrs of nonrem or a total of 4.5 if it were to actualy work out that way. but it often takes a good 7 or 8 to count getting the full complement of each in every sleep cycle. when i was living alone i could set aside 10 hours every day and had no problem, but now i no longer am. it is also quite possible that some of us, and or some of the time, just plain NEED to dream more. it's like we're being paged or im'd over the 'dreamnet' or something like that. maybe that's just me being goofy to feel that way, but that's the distinct feeling i sometimes get. =^^= .../\...
If i don't set an alarm clock and don't wake up until i feel like it, my body naturally sleeps for about 12 hours. Because of school i often don't sleep 3 out of the 5 nights of the week, and the nights i do sleep i get 3-5 hours. On Friday when i finally do come back and can sleep as long as i wish, i sometimes sleep for 24 hours all the way to Sat evening. If you want to look at messed up sleep, look at me haha.
