I keep having this dream that Im walking in the woods and I keep finding this group of indians and their building mud huts and I keep following this one woman in particular... and I never talk to her, but I climb up all these ladders and I end up looking off the side of a mountain and I freeze and get scared and cant climb back down the ladders to get to the ground but some how before I wake up Im walking out of the woods.. its weird...
the one thing i've ever read about onondagwa lore is something like that. which is wierd that you should be having that dream and i should be reading about it here. but then i experience spirit things that have nothing to do with how i was raised either. (i wasn't raised onondagwa or maidu, but i grew up in maidu country and found what i felt were spirit places when i went walking by myself out in the woods which i did grow up doing) =^^= .../\...
Well, they say that dreaming is akin to astral travel, which some portend bends the rules of Time and Space. I tend to believe that in Dreaming one can travel through Time and Space, and visit other decades, centuries, millenia...forward and backward. Further, I think there are connecting vessels, so that could explain the repetitious nature of such dreams.... Just talking off the top of my head here. I'll post further questions and theories later, for fun!
looking at this again i see i forgot to mention that my father's mother's mother was onondagwa, and like i said before, the only thing in know anything about onondagwa was that one legend i read somewhere, though i did, and hopefully still do, have one or two maidu friends i went to public school with. i do know a little bit about maidu though, most of that, i'm embarrased to say most of it, comes from reading and not from getting to know honored elders who, like everyone else, i have a hard time remembering who anyone is. =^^= .../\...
