apply heat. take asprin of other swelling reducer. if no relief, see a doc.
If it is an infection or swimmer's ear, either one, you need a doc for a anti biotic (infection) or anti fungal (swimmer's ear)
traeting for one and having it be the other is very bad!
I lost 30 percent of my hearing screwing around with this.

I've had ear aches/infections for years and my mom has always put sweet oil or witch hazel in them. It helped me a great deal. Hope you feel better soon. Ear pain is the worst!

whenever i got an earache my mom always heated up some olive oil and put it in my ear and then taped a cotton swab to my ear for about an hour. It worked wonders

wheat grass took away the pain, but the stuffiness returned.
NO ACV try yet: need a squirter.
I'm also slamming mucenex OTC to keep this from becoming pneumonia (happens to me a lot)

do have swelling, discharge? have you got something stuck in it? how long have you had this ear ache? is this a regular earache? does a hot climate/cold/wet climate bring it on? what job do you do and what is your enviroment like? do you tend to scratch your ears? and other stuff you might feel helpful

umm well it's over now but I will answer your questions for the future :)
I dunno if it was swellen? (swollen?) every once in a while it went *pop!* and then some fluid came out of the ear. when I was young I used to have ear aches all the time and I remember having a permanently running ear for quite some time..but I don't remember if it was because of something the doctor did. hm.
I think cold weather makes it worse, not sure if it brings it on? what happened was that I took a nap for about an hour at 3 o'clock and when I woke up it hurt. so maybe it was due to cold, maybe there was a draft?
I am a student and my environment hm, I live in this small 12m2 room without much fresh air because it's too cold to open up a window (sucks). and I sleep on this attick-like thing where all the heat and moist (I think) rises up to.
    hmmmm

I had a double ear infection last week and I cured it with NO antibiotics. Just pick up some garlic oil capsules. Put one capsule-full in each ear and let sit for 20 minutes. Repeat 2 or 3 days later. The earache will be gone after the first treatment and the infection will disappear completely after the second.

one way to cure an outer ear infection in about an hour or so is to sluish the ear out with colloidal silver using an ear syringe if its not too sore. you'll find it will kill the infection quickly and protect for the future. the good thing is that it doesn't sting. repeated discharge may be related to an allergy like milk etc

bacterial infection. the pop was the eardrum. Mine always sounds like frying just before the pop.
    and it is "swollen."

the back up is often as simple as a slight allergy or a cold. some backs up the eustachian tubes and sits around and gets infected.
