about five years... lemme tell ya, when they're tight (mine are practically rock-hard) and they start to get long, get ready or a load on yer neck!
It's partly the camera that does that color, but it's also because my hair is usually brown, and the fuzzys at the outside of my dreadies get sun-bleached really easy.

Before I let my hair dread, my hair was REALLY curly and dried into these nappy little ringlets, and I'd always wear a hat. One day I was hangin out with a bunch of crazy kids and took off my hat to play with my hair a bit. This dude looked at me, and his eyes got real big. And he said -
"wow... if your head were green, it would look just like ONE BIG BUD!"

then he proceeded to roll on the floor laughing for a few minutes...

thank you all - I take "pot head" (even in the most literal sense) as a compliment.
