A vaporizer is a device that heats the plant material up enough so that the active chemical is vaporized to be inhaled. As opposed to combusting the plant material and inhaling the smoke. The hype about vaporizers is that they are a smokeless system and are more healthy to use than a smoking device (pipe, joint, bong, ect...). Smoke = Bad for you because you are inhaling carcinogens and solid matter.
jesus christ...that's a vapo from hell! but yea a vaporizer's basically just something that heats the weed just enough to have the THC turn to vapor. most are electric, but some you heat with a lighter. they don't really make "smoke" but, well, vapor. it's supposed to be a lot healthier for you because there's no tar or resin involved.
Well what ToWaterandTrees posted is the Electrolux Atomic Death-Ray. Very nice piece of hardware though for maximum destruction of a small town... ANYWAY, this is a vaporizer that I would like to buy: It costs about $150 and is available at this site.

if you look at it one way it looks like a vacuum. the other way it looks like some sort of futuristic machine gun
man you must not smoke much but to learn one must ask questions, thats the way i did it. the cheapest vap is a lightbulb vaporizer id post a link but im tired. could someone please do that for me?
This is what rydns is talking about. I tried it recently but I think my weed was too dry. Ill try and post some pictures soon. I used a larger 4" clear round bulb. It came out nice and very sturdy. ...damn Im stoned...
Vaporizers were invented by Dr. Lunglife in 1989, he actually sent in plans to build a vaporizer to High Times. Yes that was his real name and yes he did work for the government. He realized that if there was no smoke or combustion and that if marijuana was heated to the ideal temerature (220 F 104C) then the THC oil would be realeased. Long story short the plans worked and one day at I blieve it was the 7th annual Cannibus Fair in Amsterdam, they had a vaporizer there. Everyone loved it and now vaporizers are hailed as being one of the greateste inventions for cannibus to be made sincd smoking it. Whew now that was enough all this talk about vaporizers make me want to go hit up my vapir one. i do really like that model for whoever had posted the picture of it just dont feel the bag kit is necessar have it and dont use it
haha man that one vaporizer looks lke a freaking star wars ray gun sent to destroy the earth, i'd be scared to use that thinggg. I'd just stick with a bong though man
