Somebody commented on another post and I have to agree that its one of the movies that should be talked about more often. It probably doesn't have the glamour that Hair has but I think it captures the spirit just as well. And there are some memorable scenes (the burial, the wedding come to mind) as well as great songs (Joni Mitchell's 'Songs To Aging Children Come', Arlo singing with Pete Seeger). This being my second post and all I'll say Hi to the ones reading this or not. 'You can get anything you want, at Alice's Restaurant, Excepting Alice'
does anybody know if the dvd and/or video of this is available in australia? i haven't been able to find it anywhere and wanna see it sooooooooo bad!!!!
Great movie.... great album.... Arlo Guthrie is just THE COOLEST man alive! I named one of my cats Alice and the other is Arlo I do agree though, this movie seems to really share the spirit of the times. Atleast from all i've read and all, since i wasn't around to actually experience it first hand. Beautiful movie. peace barefootnikki
