Just wondering if anybody goes to/went to, or knows someone who goes to/went to, any of the following schools (I'm a senior in high school and I've applied to all of these):

    -Bates College
    -Connecticut College
    -Brandeis University
    -College of the Holy Cross
    -Wheaton College (MA)
    (then some safety schools)...
    -Providence College
    -University of New Hampshire
    -University of Connecticut
-University of Massachusetts - Amherst (yeah, ZooMass, only because I got a full scholarship...)

And I would have LOVED to apply to Wesleyan University.. It would have been my favorite, bar none.. but my dad said it was too liberal (go figure) and he's the one paying for it, so I had to go with it. :(

    But anyway...
Any input would be REALLY helpful! Thanks!

one of my cousins graduated from Brandeis 5 or so years ago, something like that. i know some peopel at UNH and i know a bunch at zoomass.

my cousin really like brandeis...shes now out in SF becoming a lawyer, i believe. but she liked it. it does have nice dorms, nice area. and pretty close to boston.

my friends at zoomass like it. parties and such. i don't know much about it though.

My CI teacher went to Wesley, just graduated there less then 2 years ago, and she was saying how some of the staff and older folks who had gone there while she was there were saying how it is now is nothing to how left wing the school use to be. She's taking our class to a college for the day, and she wanted to take us there cause that's the place she knew and she knew professors there, but the school made her pick a more middle of the road place, they were afraid the class might take part in some "extra curricular" activities lol.

Aside from that though, I plan on going to Southern.

I'm going to Brandeis next year! It's a great school, perfect location, and also amazingly liberal. I'm really excited. It's far enough out of Boston to be relaxed but there are free shuttles in from Thursday through Sunday. I also got a ginormous scholarship to go there ($30,000) even though I would have gone there regardless. Also, Waltham is doing some big greenspace projects so there's some nice parks going in. They're also tearing down two creepy old mental institutions for some hiking trails and such.

I also was going to apply to Bates and Holy Cross but I got in early decision. Bates is nice and pretty but kind of in the middle of nowhere. If you're from New England it's not so much of a problem but if you're like me and coming from a different part of the country (I'm in Georgia), it's really inconvinient to get there. It's great if you like winter sports though.

I have a good friend who goes to Holy Cross, but he hates it. I guess there's a pretty big party scene there... that and he got crappy roommates (one of whom has a Bush cardboard cutout in their room). It's pretty though, very traditional.

I've been to Connecticut College, and it's nice. It was just too small for me.

My cousin is going to Wheaton next year, but I wasn't too impressed by it to tell the truth.

^Wowww, verrry helpful. Thanks a bunch!!

I actually just got my letter from Brandeis today.. waitlisted. Conceited as it sounds, I thought Brandeis was a sure thing.. but hey, I guess I just wasn't what they were looking for. Oh well.. wasn't one of my top choices, anyway. Congrats, though! It's a great school. I live 20 miles away and you're right.. it is a very nice area. You'll like it.. Eastern MA is very liberal region. :)

Your comments on the other schools seem to match up with what I've been hearing, as well. Bates is, in fact, my first choice.. and Wheaton, though not very impressive, is my favorite safety (but a safety nonetheless). And Holy Cross is looking more and more conservative to me..

But anyway, yes, thank you and congrats again!

I'm actually just north of Boston, about 1.5 hours away from Amherst (the way I drive, anyway). :)
