Just picked this book up and am starting to read it. Has anybody else read this???? From what I've read so far it seems very thorough and detailed. It will be very refreshing if it is non-partisan. I'm expecting it will be.
I wouldn't waste my money on drivel like that. The whole thing was a complete joke; a whitewash. It has managed to shift blame over a large area whilst protecting key people (ie: the Bushies). Certain people within the government should be held directly accountable for this massive failure, and action needs to be taken. Names needed to be named, and they weren't. Key people needed to be held directly responsible, and they weren't I don't believe anything that comes from the government anyway. It's all BS as far as I am concerned. I mean, what will this report say that people don't already know? The few things that we didn't already know, that were released in the report, were already covered in detail by the mainstream media. So it says the country had its guard down. What would be interesting is WHY it had its guard down. This, we will probably never know.
I think you should read it and then form your opinion. I've only read a couple of pages, basically just how the hijackers got through security checkpoints. Pretty frightening. Almost all of them were picked out of the bunch for further inspection, yet still passed. 9/11 happened on Bush's shift, but the failures started at the very bottom. I am sure everyone will learn something from that book. Nobody can say the the report is biased in favor of Bush or Clinton because it was compiled by such a variety of people. But I'm sure since it doesn't outright put the blame on Bush that many will call it right-wing propaganda.

Exactly, the report said there was no connection between 9/11 and Iraq. Dems are calling this a whitewash, right-wing propaganda. The Bush-haters should be embracing this book. It basically says Bush is full of shit about the Iraq connection. I do not understand why they are dismissing it as bullshit.
I hate to be rude, but you all need to wake up. The people behind the Commission were appointed by Bush.... DUH!!! They all have connections to big business, big oil and the military-industrial complex. They are all in on it, people! They are all insiders with close ties to the Bushies. 9/11 was an inside job all the way. Bin Laden didn't attack you, your own government did! All the 9/11 Commission report did was protect the real perpetrators of this horrific attack on our country, including Bush and his cronies. IT WAS A TOTAL WHITEWASH! The 9/11 Commission ignored everything relevant in proving the government was behind the attacks! Please, don't be so fucking naive! Please wake up!
Silky Way, if you want a fair and balanced look at what happened on that horrible day, after you're done reading the Commission's report, read a book by Theologian David Ray Griffin called: The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions. It'll leave you gasping for breath.
Intresting fact about the commission report the attack on 9/11 is described in 30 pages in this 600 page book, I thought it was a little un-through. Also it dosn't mention Tower 7 which also fell (at least not in the index). If you don't know about World Trade Center Tower 7 look it up, there are alot of unexplaned things about that bulding's collapse.
I have a copy, and have been reading it in pieces for a few weeks. I may never actually finish it. In tone, however, it does come across as overly trustful of Bush Admin sources and claims. They treat Bush and his people as if they're really trying to give accurate information(!). We now know that all claims by all parties related to his administration should be automatically doubted and scritinized. For the first few years I thought the destruction of the Twin Towers was done completely by terrorists. However, recently I've been doing a lot of independent research (all those articles and videos the average person will never come across), and it's startling how much evidence points at 9/11 being an inside job. What's worse is how little public time this evidence is getting. It's all quite scary, and in no way am I all that surprised at the things I've been reading. People will do anything for money, and there is some serious lobbying going on in the commanding heights of our economy.

The amount of money changing hands, and the interests being protected by our politicians is scary. People with lots of money, like to do things to ensure they continue getting lots of money. You just look at who's been profiting since we went to war. I mean, how is more attention not given to Halliburton getting the military contract for Iraq. That fact just absolutely blows my mind. A huge portion of our economy is built on the military and arms production. It odd... the two wars we are fighting is bankrupting our country, and yet pulling out of those two wars would further tank our economy. We've put ourselves in a very difficult position as a nation by building our infrastructure around our military. It was wonderful for pulling us out of the great depression, but now we've tried to continue that through the Korean war, Vietnam, the Gulf war (various other missions and smaller campaigns in between), and now here we are 10 years later in another war. The worst part is that somebody is making a TON of money off of this whole process. We don't see where it's all going, but the amount of money being wasted and disappearing is astronomical.
I have seen that. I know there was explosions during that time. Obviously when gas pipes crack and combustible materials explode you will hear explosions. Are you telling me you believe when somebody says: "I knew it would collapse" "It's structurally unsound" "Man, I heard explosions" etc ...this means a bomb or bombs were planted? This is "articles and videos the average person will never come across"...? No sir, I've heard this THOUSANDS of times. Thermite? Come on... I beg to differ.
I stand by my statement that I'm not a huge conspiracy theorist. I'm not running around with tin foil on my head after all But is there any part of you that believes 9/11 could have been an inside job in any way, shape, or form? Even if it was just a simple push from somewhere in the US government? During the explosions there are some inconsistencies with time correlations that disturb me. Some of the info news anchors were given, it really did seem like someone was feeding them the info before things even happened. The 9/11 commission report seemed a little half-ass to me. I think some important things were ignored and I doubt that the entire investigation (and the knowledge subsequently made public) is as thorough, or correct as they would claim. On a slightly different topic, would you deny that Bush used a national tragedy to spark a "rally round the flag" technique in order to gain support for wrongfully invading Iraq?

Ok. I was just expecting something a little more substantial and less like something most CTs cling too...as you were faintly arrogant in suggesting you had some great information, but it turned out to be rubbish (no offense). Some eyewitness states they heard explosions...there must have been bombs. That kinda logic. I don't know . Not really. Nothing I have heard is that convincing (to me). Like what? Like what? If you pull out some clap trap about a BBC "anchor" I will scream loudly. Important things like what? Not testimonies by panicked eyewitness' talking about explosions I hope. I'm positive the report isn't definitive or completely correct. It doesn't take much to get the majority of Americans to "Rally around the flag", tbh. They also probably thought it was right to invade Iraq.
