i hate using paper made from trees but hemp paper is so expensive! does anyone know were to get it for a cheap price? ~peace and love~
I buy Lokta paper from Nepal... you can get it pretty cheap on ebay. I always buy it from the same guy. I'll get his name for you. It's really cool. The hemp paper I've bought, I get at http://www.1percent.com. There are probably a million other places, but I just found one and am too lazy to keep looking. It's really good stuff though. I think it's from the Greenfield Paper Co. You should check it out.
i only use hemp and tree free paper ...but i get mine from many diffrent sites here is a link that has a bunch of sites with hemp and tree free paper http://www.ecomall.com/biz/paper.htm
Pardon my ignorance on the subject and correct me if I am wrong but isnt there "tree farms" (so to speak) that grow trees for the sole purpose of turning them into paper, and them replant them to make more paper? This is probably bad for the soil (which might be the reason you dont use it; if it is tell me), nut is it bad for the enviorment in any other way? Once again forgive my lack of knowledge on the topic.
I'll try to answer your question as best I can. Forgive me if my facts aren't entirely straight. The idea of having a tree farm for the aforementioned use doesn't seem like a bad idea on the surface, especially if the trees are replanted and the company which owns the tree farms doesn't start logging other areas that don't belong to them. The problem that you have with paper made from wood is that the production process is much more intensive than with hemp paper. Many chemicals are used in the production process with "wood" paper and as wood paper ages, it has a tendency to yellow much more as the years progress than does hemp paper.
