not fashion or craft related, but i don't post anywhere else and i knew some of you would appreciate this story :& i was at the market the other day with my sweet hairy boyfriend, and we're dressed like how we normally dress......i had on a big skirt and my rusty furry collared/cuffed coat and he was wearing flared jeans and his vintage coat, and this kid...probably about 10-11 was holding the door open for us and he's like "nice outfits guys" so we thanked him, and he's like "ARE YOU GUYS LIKE, FROM THE 80'S OR SOMETHING?!??!" totally cute, but totally wrong decade he had. i gave him points for effort though. whatever, i thought it was sweet except i think he had chicken pox....which scared me.
loll, aww. speaking of kids, i was at the grocerie store the other day, and this kid, 8 or 9, had this groovy grateful dead tie dye t-shirt on, and i was like "nice top=)" and she just started blabing and blabing about garcia and the dead and everything, i was like =O. it was the cuttest thing=)
That is awesome... Both of those stories... I remember having the Chicken Pox... I had them the same time my mom dad brother and sister went to an Eagles show on their Hell Freezes Over Tour... I got a T-shirt. Don't know what happened to it... I loved that shirt. I wore it all the time. I am not a big Eagles fan, but the chicken pox bring back memories. But while they were seeing an awesome concert, I was at my cousins house taking an oatmeal bath... I think they won in the "good time" department... That was pretty much unrelated and pointless...
Hehe, while we're sharing little kid stories, mine has nothing to do with fashion or anything, but a friend of my boyfriend and I works up at this convenience store and her daughter (who's my age) and 6 year old son came in and he was walking around and asked us if we wanted to see his cell phone and he brings out one of those little plastic toy cell phones and he told us it played music and then he asked if anyone wanted to talk on his Sprint phone. I thought it was hilarious that he decided it had a certain phone service and everything.
LOL I like that story lucy. I remember going into a store with one of my long skirts on and a peasant top...and this little girl kept calling me a princess LOL.
i've gotten things like that, or elf, or fairy. I ABOSLUTELY LOVE IT! Once i was at a value village a few months ago, and this little girl like 4 or 5 and her mum were kinda following me, and when i turned around the mum was like "my daughter has something she wants to tell you" but the little girl around was all shy, and so i crouched down in front of her and she walked over, with her fingers in her mouth and here lil belly stickin out, but she wouldn't say anything...so the mum was like "she thinks your very beautiful" then the little girl like hugged me and was like "yeah you're so beautiful....like a princess! I love your dress!" i just about bawled on the spot. Lucky for me my boyfriend was with me at the time and i scored huuuuuge points with that. Still to this day that was his favorite moment with me ever. :& I've noticed though that kids LOVE this style. And i totally get it, it can be a very fairy tale like appearance we have. i love it.
for some reason this just made me think of when i was in 5th grade and i was home with the pox, and the radio said 'call now to win springsteen tickets' so my mom's like 'why don't you call? it can't hurt.' and when i got through, i WON! and she made me talk on the radio, it was the first (only?) time i won tickets. when i went back to school and bragged about it, my 5th grade teacher called my parents and asked if they would consider selling the tickets. they said no, and i went with my dad. it was Bruce's 'tunnel of love' tour. and i have NO idea what became of the tee shirt dad bought me. lol. peace LP
Last week I had a bit of a cold and some kid told me my nose was running. So I asked her if she had a hanky or a tissue. She told me to wipe it on my arm. Her mom gave her a pretty nasty look after she said that. I had to laugh though... A more fashion related story.. When I was a camp counselor, I was famous for wearing long skirts around camp. The younger campers liked to ask me to twirl around so they could see my skirt "fly." Kids are awesome.
LOL, my nephew always like to see that too. He's 3. He always says: "Aunt Annie, turn around!" and he'll say it over and over until I do it LOL. My little sister made him a little skirt to wear for fun out of one of her old skirts....so now he likes to put that on and turn around himself.
Oh! Lucky me! I have one more story. The other night, my boyfriend and I went out to eat and we were waiting to be seated when a couple and their little girl (couldn't be over 3) walked past us and the little girl looked at me and Dan and said, "Hi! Peace out!" It was absolutely the cutest thing I have ever seen in my life. That was so coooool.
