Yess! This former catholic hospital was a squat about 30 years ago, and now some 250 people (hippies!) live there, legally since 25 years. Maintenance, finances, rent, the inhabitants do it themselves. Everyone is supposed to pay rent (not very much at all), and help running the building. There is a cinema, a diner, a pub where bands play often. The whole building is one big old cool cultural historical everchanging explosion! There are people who have lived there for 30 years, from the beginning, there are people who are quite young, there are people with children, there are people living together, there are people from all over the world...
I have lived there in sublet for 9 months. And now I am going back! I got offered a room in the hallway where I haved lived for 4 months...
    I AM SO happy!
Check www.orkz.net. Not sure if there is an English version of the site though..

It looks pretty fantastic, actually. I checked out the photos section of the site, and it looks like a great place. Lucky bastard.
