It has officially been a whole day since I have smoked a cigarette. And I am freaking dying right now. But i'm not gonna give in ... I need to give up smoking, If I don't do it now, I never will. Anyone else go through this? It's not actually as bad as I thought it would be ... but I know if I go to the store and buy a pack, all this giddiness will go away. oh well ... I just need some time ...
good for you man, i really respect your decision and i know that it cant be easy. i wish you so much love, strength, dedication, and compassion in your time of need. stay strong my brother.
Yeah... I know the feeling man. I used to smoke marijuana cigarettes like people smoked tobacco cigarettes. ... so that was even worse.
Well, I decided that I'd quit smoking like I did.... it was getting bad on my lungs and I'd start freaking out and thinking the television was talking to me. I might this Summer, if meg comes down. Anyway, it's 11:22am... I'm about to go to a doctor's appointment and head to the Carolinas. I'm having a couple beers right now and listening to Marshall Tuckerrr. Before anyone asks, yeah, I am supposed to be in school, but I've got to take care of some things with my dad in North Carolina.
ahahahe i think ya got in in ya man.i don't know what it's like to be addicted to cigs but you know:H i agree with this girl here.just fight it.you'll end up feeling good about it.
I've never understood how to get addicted to rollies (cigarettes). I've smoked them a number of times (even though I despise them), never had an addiction. Maybe a craving when people under the age of 18 are smoking around me. So, answer to your question "Anyone else go through this?", no I don't. But I do go through something similar with soda pop (Coca Cola, etc).
i'm not really one to talk as i just rolled a cigarette, but all i can say is i did stop smoking once, though it was unintentional...the desire and any thought for a cigarette just wasn't there occupy yourself with other things - or chew gum or (like we did at my house) buy a ridiculously large bag of mints to have instead of a cigarette
well just think about how happy you would feel after finally reaching another goal in your life, think of the cig as a weakness that you have to get rid of - well that's what i did when i gave up - yep i was a young smoker (still am young though). well anyone is capable of reaching measurable things so i don't see why you can't - good luck
Wow, thanks for all that great encouragment guys! That was exactly what I needed to hear. And this is actually my third time giving up, but I know this is the last time. I've made some other changes in my life that don't accomodate cigarettes. I'm starting to go hiking, and when I was getting short winded I knew it was time to stop. Nothing comes between me and nature ... not even nature itself ... in a processed coorporated form. ha ha. Much love.
