I like to sew, I like to hemp, and I want to learn to crochet. Where would anybody suggest to learn? How should I get started any advice? How many guys do you see crocheting? Let me know. Your help is appreciated!
I used to watch a friend of mine crochet and I tried to immitate it. For years and years I thought that I was becoming really good with crocheting, and then I found out that what I did was only single crochet. Just last week I figured out how to double crochet(after several years of trying to from looking at library books and websites). Crocheting in general seems easy, it's just that some things never clicked until recently. Ok, I'll get to the point: If you can find a library book that has lots of step-by-step pictures, those are great(I guess that's a given though). I second the link Hipmoon posted, and there was another good website...I'll post it if I can find it again.
i learned from my gram and the books in the stores and stuff and now i make ponchos and boot type things
My mom taught me and a friend when were about 8. I use the book Kooler's encyclopedia of crochet if I forget something because it is full of pictures of each step of tons of stiches.
I taught myself... I just bought a beginner's book @ the craft store, a needle and a ball of yarn, and off I went on my first scarf. BEGIN WITH SCARVES! it's the easiest thing to make...
my grandma was teachingmy yesterday, o its so cool to do. i couldnt stop, so my grandma said o you REALLY gonna stop now cuase you have to go home haha
stitch n bitch crochet (happy hooker) is out now. i just got it, and even though i'm pretty decent at crochet (i think anyways, haha), it looks like it'll teach me a few things. and it looks like it'd pretty easy to understand for someone who's never crocheted before. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0761139850/sr=8-1/qid=1140792644/ref=pd_bbs_1/002-3676152-0044856?%5Fencoding=UTF8
