This summer, I will be spending a lot of time camping, kayaking and fishing up north. Im goin because I prefer it, I like being alone out in the wild, with a book, a fire and the stars. None of my friends in Toronto share this, so I will be sending most of the time alone. I enjoy it tho, Im 17 and I find it a key to the growing up experience.I find in the city, I am more adapting and surviving, but in the wild (well, near wild) I am thriving.

    What are you reasons?

My reasons are similar. I like the solitude and peace you get in the woods, and the unparalelled beauty.

I like to get in touch with nature. I get along with animals better than people.

It's always nice to just be surrounded by the birds, and the only thing talking to you is nature. But it's also fun with friends, it's a little less scary. I've had an encounter with a bear once so ever since it's been kind of rough camping by myself. Other then that, camping is just fun. It takes you away from the hustle and bustle of the real world and it's very relaxing. I've considered living in a tent for the entire four seasons up here in Michigan.

Spiritual enrichment is top of the list. Feasting my eyes on the wonders that is Nature followed by getting away from unheathy city energy is a close second/third. I just like being outside doing nothing really. Checking out the plants, figuring out what animal is which or just breathing in tree cleaned air is an excuse of enough.

That plus I don't have to be at work :)
