Its a scheme that the NZ government does...its financial help with your studies that you dont have to pay back. You can only get it if your parents earn less than a certain amount combined (if you're under 25)

here if you are an adult and unemployed you can go to school and get paid for it ....it works out in the long run because with the higher education you will be making more money ,hence more taxes .they get their monies back .............my line of work?? i'm a church caretaker and grave digger ........don't laugh ..it pays the bills and the customers never complain ........plus i set my own hours ..as long as the work is done and i put in my 40 hours ..not necessarily in the same week either ......how many here have that flexibility ??

If you stay on at school past 16 in England you can apply for an allowance, I think it's means-tested, up to about £30 a week.

I work for the man. And by the man I mean a fast food restaurant specializing in hot dogs. But seriously. The owner is the former owner of Drake's Cakes (you know, the company with the little duck logo that scares the living fuck out of me), and working there is a bitch sometimes. A couple times a week the owner and co-owner come in to subjugate us in matters of saving money by not double-saran wrapping the meats and cheeses, not putting too much chili on a hot dog, and making sure the bathroom door has NO FINGERPRINTS on it whatsoever. I've gotten seriously bitched out a couple of times for that last one.

I am self employed as a Board Certified Lactation Consultant. Three years of education after college, several thousand hours in direct patient contact and having to pass Boards every 10 years.

I don't make much money for all this, but it is what I love. I get to help mothers breastfeed their babies, give occasional lecture, write articles here and there, and give breastfeeding classes and run a breastfeeding support group (that is volunteer, but they need me.) I can't think of much else I could do, love it this much, and still be home for my kids most of the time.
