Anyone want to really go back to nature, i see soo many posts about doing that but, i dunno, seems like nobody falls through. I found cheap land in northern ontario I need help to cultivate it though.

    anyone out there?

Sounds like a great idea. I know that summer is very beautiful up there but the winters can be brutal. I am from up-state NY and winters here are no fun, so it must be harder up there.

Anyway, how are things going? Have you found anyone interested in joining you yet.

I have been thinking a lot about living “off the grid” but as I research it I become more discouraged. It takes a lot of money just to start it up.

How far up north and where in northern ontario? That's a big space. If you are close to the mb border a few friends and I might be interrested.

It's cool that you have land...but Northern Ontario...there's a clear problem... it's really really cold in winter...and a wave of moscitos (flea ?...i dont know how to call it) in the summer... or am i wrong...

it's not that cold really, it only gets to around minus 20 C, which for canada isn't bad.

people are afraid of the cold??? man that's the best time of the year ..you can stay inside and chill out and listen to the music or do like me and don a pair of snowshoes and go for a walk in the woods ...one nice thing about our winters ..no mosquitos .. storming outside right now ...nice and cosy inside the house ..got a good fire going ,coffee, dog at my feet and steppenwolf on the stereo ..........does life get any grander than that?? but it is warm compared to what is normally this time of year ..only about 10 degrees below the freezing mark and like steveo says .....your body gets acclimatized to it .....after a couple of weeks of real cold you can go outside in freezing weather with just a light sweater on and not feel the cold
