Anyone want to really go back to nature, i see soo many posts about doing that but, i dunno, seems like nobody falls through. I found cheap land in northern ontario I need help to cultivate it though. anyone out there?
Sounds like a great idea. I know that summer is very beautiful up there but the winters can be brutal. I am from up-state NY and winters here are no fun, so it must be harder up there. Anyway, how are things going? Have you found anyone interested in joining you yet. I have been thinking a lot about living “off the grid” but as I research it I become more discouraged. It takes a lot of money just to start it up.
How far up north and where in northern ontario? That's a big space. If you are close to the mb border a few friends and I might be interrested.
Holmes this is the exact sitch i`m looking for i`m in montreal right now but looking for new options for the new year. This post is old but if the starter still goes through it drop me a line
It's cool that you have land...but Northern Ontario...there's a clear problem... it's really really cold in winter...and a wave of moscitos (flea ?...i dont know how to call it) in the summer... or am i wrong...
Alabama has very good temperatures, 90ºF summers and mild winters, its 64ºF outside right now, and its January.
where in nortern ontario is this were talking about? im in southern? and by fleas in the summer? im assuming you mean ticks, and it really dosne't get that cold when your used to it, besides the colder it gets the more you appreiciate summer....
people are afraid of the cold??? man that's the best time of the year ..you can stay inside and chill out and listen to the music or do like me and don a pair of snowshoes and go for a walk in the woods ...one nice thing about our winters ..no mosquitos .. storming outside right now ...nice and cosy inside the house ..got a good fire going ,coffee, dog at my feet and steppenwolf on the stereo ..........does life get any grander than that?? but it is warm compared to what is normally this time of year ..only about 10 degrees below the freezing mark and like steveo says .....your body gets acclimatized to it .....after a couple of weeks of real cold you can go outside in freezing weather with just a light sweater on and not feel the cold
hey, i read your other posts- just wanted to say good luck. i'm an oil rig slave right now until i pay off my ccards. once im paid up, maybe i,ll get back to you. but i would like more to stay in bc... anyway, go for it man- and if you want some of satans money, look up the CAODC. 23.50/hr 80hrs/wk no exp necessary- just astrong back.
Man, you are from Wainfleet? I used to live in BEAMSVILLE! My parents are from Pelham!!! I wouldnt mind coming up to help you cultivate.
I think that this could really be a cool idea...I use to live in ONtario and the north part I know has some land that could be developed into a community...would love to hear more about this. email me at ladybirdhawk@yahoo.com
