this is probably true. and the only way to live in tough with the natural diversity of reality.

at the same time of course, alturism IS self intrest because we all have to live in the same world each of us contributes to, intentionaly or not, by everything we do or don't, as well of course, as the incentives we togather create.

nature itself is really helpful to this. that's one reason to want to live closer to it. even with tecnology. especialy with tecnology. using it to be randomly creative with.

if someone gave you an idea and you were fallowing it that wouldn't be randomness though, would it?

you could write down a bunch of stuff, put numbers beside each thing, and roll rpg dice to pick one. that still wouldn't be totaly random but it's one way to counterattack immagination blockage.

same goes for putting them on index cards and then shuffling them like a deck of playing cards.

i started doing that but the deck is way too big to shuffle the whole thing in one go. i think i've got about 600 cards in it by now.

if you've got a programing language you could do the same thing pretty easy that way.

but i like the kind of inspiration i get from nature and industry when i get to just ride arround on trains and bussess.

that's it, go for a random road trip.
you're bound to get inspired by all kinds of things that way. i know i always do.

cities and cars are two things that are NOT made for each other.
cities and kevlar vests maybe.

i would definately go for a train ride if there's any where you live. the stuff you see from the windows of a train is so much cooler then the same old crap you always see from a car anyway.

but if you're driving, head out of town, and take the roads less travelled.
do this on unusual days and people will usualy be glad to see you.
