i konw I am new here ut I hope you guys can help me. I have a big problem with my sister-in-law, and it's terrible. She is first anti-hippie and thinks I am a weirdo.......second she is materialistic and vain. SHe has major issues like anorexia, drinking, and overcompesating to raise her self esteem. But I actually hate her so much that even when she is not saying ro doing something stupid ( she is not very bright) I try to find something to get mad at her about. Then I sometimes find myself wanting to be like her because she is the way she is and she is 5'10, a rail with big boobs and everyone seems to like that. No-body likes the deep, artistic, nature loving, short skinny girl. I am really getting obsessed with the whole thing. Cant we just knock her off? Does anyone have any sdvice.
well the way i see it, everyone is just trying to find happiness. unfortunately many become disillusioned in this quest. no one really has it easy, things are tough. this leads to a lot of insecurity, hatred, malice, judgements, and even more problems. although some people are intolerable you have to realize that we all want the same basic thing and want to avoid suffering. and even though you have to deal with this troublesome women, it must be a lot harder to live as her, what with her anorexia, drinking, and other problems, so thats something to be grateful for. while you have to deal with this women, although im sure its tough, try to show her empathy and compassion, for we all want the same thing, and lord knows its not easy. i hope ive helped in some way. i wish you and your sister-in-law much love and strength in your life and quest.
To be quite honest with you, there isn't a damn thing you can do. My sister in law (well ex-sister-in-law) is a nutcase and there isn't a thing you can do to change stuff like that. You aren't married to her...so you don't have to associate with her. *Shrugs* Hold your tongue and be the bigger person.
You should try freaking her freak. Be extremely nice to her even if you don't want to. You two could end up becoming very close or you will at least get into the pattern of respecting who she is. I guess I'd have to know her in order to give you the best of advice. She probably gives you a lot of guff because you except it, so next time sit down by her and give her a big hug, she might even want to stay away.. Danny
