People can't name them because a) it's never been popularized or broadcast in a major market and b) the question confuses them. Ask them this multiple choice question and you'll probably find that a lot more people know their rights, even if they don't know the name of those rights.
There is a reason why society has been set up to be so dumb and oblivious to such things. Most people can tell you everything about stupid shit like sports and American Idol, yet they cannot even tell you what the First and Second Amendment is. It's pathetic, really. I remember a poll recently which showed almost half of all high schoolers couldn't even name the Vice President. This all plays into the system's hands. The dumber we are, the easier we are to mislead and exploit. It's funny because internationalism (ie: globalism) is widely promoted in our public schools, with clubs like "Model UN," yet almost no attention is placed on the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights. Hmmm, I wonder why this is? It's because the same people who control the education system in this country are also working toward the creation of a one word government. The last thing the Elite want is for people to know about the Constitution and how it's being shit upon. It's far more convenient for them to fill our heads with garbage.
you had no option for 'all of the above'...the only freedom we have is freedom of thought and they try to take that away from us.
sad but true...u may ask ur self "y is this???" well because public schools r controlled by the government & they want 2 keep us as in the dark as they can if we don't know our rites...how can we fight 4 them???
Thought is the only freedom that can't be taken unwillingly. Sadly, today too many have given it up willingly. Indoctrination has taken precedence over education.
i feel that we have all those that u listed under the 1st admendment , it is just the goverment has away to skew them to how they see fit
I wonder how many answered housing, food, health care, leisure life, and spending money? Oh, I forgot, those aren't rights, they're entitlements.
That's just sad... pathetic even. That is stuff taught to elementary school students, at least it was when I was young.
This country is ruled by the majority of the people voting in any given election, therefore the problems with America are of our own choosing. Most of us choose not to vote. Most of us who do vote know absolutely nothing about the system in which we live. Too many people vote for their religion instead of their country. Way too many people vote for the party's interests instead of the country's. The educational system sucks because parents do not get involved in their children's education, and they would rather have a tax cut instead of quality schools. We have become an nation of whiners instead of do-ers. We whine that the federal government should stay out of our business, but when the oil starts coming ashore we whine that the government isn't doing enough. America is not the quality nation it once was, or could be, because we are no longer quality citizens. We are a self-governing nation of people who have become too damn lazy and self-absorbed to be bothered with all that participation. We have exactly what we paid for. .
Quite interesting!!!! I voted "Freedom of peacefull assembly" I dont watch the simpsons (As it mentions in the article) but i can name 1 famous person in it: BART
