Bodhisattva I am not For I still hate and scorn. For anger makes my soul feel hot. Its fabric now is worn. Bodhisattva how I long To enter on this stream. To rid myself of right and wrong Awaken from life’s dream. Bodhisattva I can’t say If I can make this real My conscience causes great delay. I wait while it appeals. Bodhisattva what will be When it is liberated? It is folly if I say I’m free When it is emancipated. Bodhisattva I do know The Dharma is a raft. It’s taken me much time to row While others stand and laugh. Bodhisattva I can see By one thing I’m restricted. I’m the one who’s hurting me With all that I’m afflicted. Bodhisattva it is clear I am indeed released. Purified of joy and fear All suffering has ceased.
liberation is freedom,to be free is to have no boudaries or restrictions in the way of mind ,body&spirit.enjoyed your writing very much..
The concept of the bodhisattva extends far outside Buddhism. I would dare say it is a sort of archetype. The essential idea is that one takes a vow to help others, though they must halt their own progress to do so. But, the backround in which the vow is taken would largely determine the nature of the "help".
