Yes, it is the quiet one's birthday today. If he were still alive, he'd be 63. God, how we all miss him :(

No one really knows exactly which day it is, which I guess is the bad thing about home births close to midnight.

So I just celebrate it as a two-day festival I call Georgefest. Yesterday I watched Concert for Bangladesh, today I'll be watching Concert for George. And of course lots of Indian music, George Harrison music, and guitar playing.

I love you, George. God Bless and Happy Birthday.....wherever you are :)

Wasn't Layla written for the girl that left George for Eric Clapton, Patty Boyd?

    Yeah...yeah it was....

    *sigh*

The irony, huh? Especially considering I'm not a fan of Pattie Boyd Harrison Clapton....I'd take Olivia Harrison any day of the week. God, she's hot. (I have the unexplainable GirlCrush on her)

I never really understood why George liked Patti anyway. She seemed like a typical ditzy blonde type chick that guys would date just for sex or something. Olivia seemed like she had some substance to her, which is why I like her WAY more than Patti. Plus, she cheated on him, and seriously, how stupid do you have to be to do something like that?

well, there must have been something about patti harrison, though......... look at all the songs that were written about her during that time. not only all of the songs that george had written "for you blue" as an example........ but layla by eric clapton, and foxey lady by jimi hendrix.

Well, her popularity sure beats the hell out of me. Whenever I see pictures of her vacant, expressionless face, I can't help but wonder how she became so famous.

She has a gap between her teeth.

I really don't get it. She looks like a doe about to get hit by a car.

Olivia just seems so much more wise and intellegent, she also seems like she has a really quick wit to match her late husband's.

Plus she saved his life more than once.

That's why I love, Love, LOVE me some Livvie. That and look at all she's done to honor George since he's passed- Brainwashed, Concert for George, Concert for Bangladesh DVD release, the work on remastering George's entire catalogue....that woman (and of course Dhani...George's clone...Er..I mean Son) have been working like hell.

Although ultimately I have to feel bad for Pattie, because apparently she couldn't have children, and it drove a wedge between She and George...and later She and Eric

I sob like a small child during Concert for George.....Eric Clapton looks completely drained by the end of the show, and So does Dhani. Even Paul chokes up while introducing "Something"

Plus I cry at the beginging of "Here Comes the Sun" because Eric Idle said in the Greedy Bastard Tour Diaries that he was sobbing in the bathroom during that song. And Joe Brown does it fantastically.

And towards the end of "Arpan" Anoushka Shankar looks over at Eric Clapton and while she's conducting with one hand, she is wiping tears away with the other.

So many amazing people devastated by the loss of a really, really amazing and beautiful soul.

    *sigh*

Oh man......we really brought the mood right down...

SUN, SUN, SUN HERE IT COMES
Because George wouldn't want all this sadness. After all, All Things Must Pass.
