...and you did/did not let the air outta his tires? Damnation...... starting to type like I'm in fruitcakeland. *L*
we have a big plastic owl that we put change in. my daughter was terrified of it until i told her that it just eats money. now every time she finds a penny or something, she BEGS us to hold her up so she can feed the owl. we named him "college fund."
i have saving problems... i have probably earned... 2000 dollars from my weekend job since i started (like 4 months ago) and have not saved one BIT. by the way.. does anyone have any tips on how to save?
I usually keep my quarters in my wallet b/c they help me out the day before pay day. Any other change goes into my son's piggy (errr bottle) bank
savings account, make it that you can only put money into it and that you can't withdraw until you're a certain age...thats what i did...
I started saving change after my first job (7 years ago). I now have around $900 in change at home. I don't add to it all the time but when I have too much change or just find some laying around the house, it goes into the collection!!!! I once took out $110 in quarters to pay for my first tattoo! - that was the only time I have ever taken money out of it!
I think she has a point What if a loved one was in that building, would you want someone constantly broadcasting the image of thier death? A lot of PEOPLE died in that buidling, and it's disgusting that some feel the need to be so liberal with that imagery to further political ideoms or simply the notion of free speech. To make marders of the countless victims whom they never even knew. How about some respect for the dead? How about some respect for the feelings of those who were left behind to deal with the pains of loss. But that's it isn't it, the right to be an insensitive prick outwieghs the right to recieve respect and understanding. Hell it's the new mantra of the 21st century, and the reason we're going to hell in a handbasket. Rights without responsibility amount to nothing more than an illusion of freedom, because we only condem ourselves to the posessive nature of destruction. No different from the free speech shmucks who insisted on publishing the mohamad cartoons, who gives a shit that it was a sacreligious offence of the highest nature. It's there right to continue on in the western way of shitting on the rest of the world, rights for those in the right, the rest can go sit on it and rotate. Bloody great, and we wonder why peole fly planes into skyscrapers. And we've now come full circle. So yes, take down the sig pic, maybe put something up which invokes joy, not sorrow, love not hate. Something which provokes thaught, not tasteless emotional maninpulation. ...oh, and I think I have about $75 in change still pilling up, time to break out the rollers
I have at least $100 in change right now. I use it when I'm in a bind. It's also a really easy way to save money. I once saved $300 in change.
exactly I think it's in realy poor taste and with the amount of people on these boards it is inevitable that it will badly hurt somone so I think instead of trying to be 'cool' by showing buildings being blown up you should find another way to obtain some sort of identy, unless of course you lost a loved one in the trade towers and this is your way of greiving?...no I didn't think so
i would like to openly state that what i am about to say is not an attempt to argue with anybody. it is merely the way i feel about the situation. it is not our responsibility to protect the feelings and emotions of other people. not just here but in every day life as well. our only true responsibility is to ourselves. to be true to ones self is a hard thing to do but i find it to be a courageous thing for this very reason right here. many people have thoughts feelings and opinions that are not well liked or agreed with. for those people to hide their thoughts because it will bring a disturbance to the mind of another is an injustice to ones self. i am not stating that either side is right or wrong at all. what i am saying is that just as you have the right to openly disagree with the actions that are spoken of here the other party has the right to verbally litterally or visually express themselves. each individual is each individuals only problem and nobody elses. this is of course excluding those that are actually reasonably dependant on another party. to tell that member they are wrong for posting that picture in their sig is no different than if i were to tell you you were wrong for telling them they are wrong. we are born with free will for a purpose. to impose on anothers free will goes against everything life stands for. that is just my thought on the matter. i hope nobody is offended by what i have said.
I'm not agreeing with you I thing showing the trade towers being blown up is potentially too hurtful for many on here and they do not want that reminder. I think free speech sometimes goes way to far in 'real life' too
i agree that free speech can be taken too far. keep in mind however our forefathers were well aware of that and in the constitution it was set on how far our rights could stretch. we are stated to have three god given rights in the constitution. life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. they are stated in that order for a specific reason. precedence is key there. if somebodies pursuit of happiness infringes on another persons liberty or life then that right null for that instance. just as when somebodys liberty endagers another person life that right is null for that situation. in this case that members liberty does not endager another mans right however other peoples pursuit of happiness infringes upon his liberty. it is a natural order. we should not place so much emphasis on emotion in my opinion.
My college roomate died in the WTC I really don't care to look at that shit. I've watched countless programs on the WTC because of my personal ties to it and it still hurts to see it, but I do so to learn about the episode from all points of view. There's a difference between that and someone just putting up a billboard signature under their screename depicting the act. If you ask me its pretty darn classless to post such a photo as a signature, but its not the first time. I got in a big time arguement with someone on here back in 2002 when I was still grieving pretty badly concerning my roomate. it took several pm from me to this one individual to take the picture down and I'm not going to go that route again because people will do as they please whether right or wrong. I will however state my opinion that I would be hard pressed to believe that the person who has that picture in his signature is not a big time asshat.
you sure place a lot on emotion when it concerns you. funny how those can have an unbiased view when things don't affect them in the least. btw-I knew no one who dies in the attack but I do think it's potentially hurtful and in horrible taste and this is hate speech not free speech
...and that's the way he chooses to 'sign off' ...show's a lot about his character. He's either trying to be a hardass and is completley ignorant to rela-life tradgedy or he is an alkaita supporter. Those are the only to options really.
well, if you look under his name he has it written 'right to be hostile' way to go tough guy! yep, go on with your bad self and demonstrate your 'right to be hostile' all you're doing is making yourself look like an asshat. But that's what you want right? Because hostility brings attention
