okay so I do have enough to be thankful for... many friends think I have a nice body and I exercise alot now (i've joined the ymca!) but honestly... I think I've come up with this eating problem. Before I didn't eat and now I can't stop eating... I've narrowed it down to healthy foods- I'm not binging on Doritos and hamburgers and beer.. I made it fruits and organic snacks thanks to my health concious mother but none the less, I can't stop eating. I don't know if the weight I've gained is muscle from working out or if it's something else.

I'm not pregnant... and healthwise, I think I'm fine except for this. Has anyone gone through it? How can I just eat when I'm hungry and stop when I'm full?

Is it near that time of the month for you? My appetite is almost insatiable a week before my menstrual cycle. Drives me nuts. I feel so out of control because I'm absolutely starving for some reason during that time. Hormonal fluctuations I guess.

I used to work out and eat the same shit I always did for 3 months straight. I quit then about a year later I worked out cutting everything bad out of my diet for about three months.

I noticed that the first time I gained a little, but it didn't show on my body, in fact It LOOKED like I had lost weight, so it must have just been muscles. The second Time I stayed the same weight while it looked like I lost A lot of weight.

It's probably just muscle. As long as you're burning up those calories it doesn't really matter. It's probably why you're constantly hungry too. It's normal.

Hi, friend Nisha. It's great that you have a positive exercise habit. When you exercise a lot, you need A LOT more calories than when you're sedentary. I know what it's like to be in both great shape, and out of shape. When I'm training for marathons or otherwise exercising a lot, I can eat as much as I want . . . . and I still lose weight, every day, day by day.

On the other hand, if I'm a lazy couch potato, I can eat almost nothing, and gain weight. So, overall, you sound pretty normal to me. Keep up the good stuff you're doing, and take care.

if you're just eating "too much" fruit and stuff like that... and youre excercising, i wouldnt worry about it.

although if you eat because you're bored you might wanna find other things to do when bored like breathing excercises, stretching, etc...

Yeah, ive had this recently actually! How old are you?...
Turns out my little eating binge was because i was...growing:O When i left for my holiday, i was smaller than my mum, at a tiny 5ft 1 inches tall...
On my return, i was slightly taller.
Now im 5ft 3:) Surprised i didnt get vertigo, this all took place within the space of a few months.

I also commence eating what seems like "too much" about a week before my time of the month.

    Xx

    thanks everyone :)

well... it was my time of the month. but thinking about from a different perspective, i'm also going to court in two days for a glorious two day session of my father's testimony. i think i may just be getting nervous for that too.

if i remember correctly i think you are still at an age where you will be going through growth spurts. this may be a part of that cycle. working out may also be having an effect on your weight gain as well. if you are eating healthy and exercising i would not worry or consider it anything serious.

i did not make it this far before making my post. increased stress can be a cause of increased appetite. i know that when i get very depressed or overly stressed i eat mass amounts of food. also i am sorry you are still having to deal with this. it sounds like it will be over soon and people will be getting what they deserve so that is good.
