Yeah, but we'ra talking abot kids being killed or injured for life, if I was stood in a play ground, with 30 10 year olds and an asshole with an AK47, if I had a hand gun and he brought his weapon to his fireing line, i would put a hole thru him and proudly wear the blood splatter, so it depends on how you want it, fear of an ID card and what it brings with it, or fear of a bomb in a subwayon your way to work, or planes being flown into buildings killing thousands of unarmed civilians, Jefferson and Franklin had the luxury of not dealing with terrorism on that kind of scale, had they been around today, I'm sure there views would be a little diferent, but I still can't decide one way or the other, it's just terrorism that makes me defend security to this extent.
your using the typical tabloid way of arguing, using children and certain death with terrorism. and what does this madman with a gun have to do with I.D. cards, woul dhe have not done so if asked for his I.D. card? would the London bombers have stopped? it is very very hypocritical of our nation to go around supposidly defending freedom and liberty to other countries whilst taking our away, what are we defending now. if you give in to items such as the I.D. card bill the terrorists are winning, they wanted us to change our life and take away our freedoms, and we are doing exactely that. peacex
No, the terrorists are winning because they able to go around and kill people at will, and if ID cards can stop that, then so be it, again I agree, it may not make a diference, but if it did, then I'm all for it, whatever gets the job done, right?
absolutely not, we must stand by our ethics and ideals. i believe in real freedom, not the type where we can give up a bit to be 'safer'. the terrorists are winning if we change our way of life, which we are, we are losing our vision of liberal democracy. go read Benjamin Franklin and John Locke, the thinkers that visioned liberal democracies, and that is what we are supposed to be defending not getting rid of. if you agree with 'whatever gets the job done'- why not kill all Muslims because there is a chance one fo them may attack us, why not??? because we believe in freedom. the i.d. cards are a total abuse of our civil liberties, you may say you believe in our democracies ideals, but you cannot truely if you support this Bill. peacex
it seems like driver license have been around for a long time . number 2 the law enforcment never mentions how many criminals are cought or even kill by private ARMED CITIZENS "they want all the credit" and all of this I.D have not stop police brutality and harrasment so fuck the law enforcent most of the time they are useless spending most of the time giving tickets of feeding theyr guts at the local dunkin donuts while the real criminals go about theyr bissnes.
and with 65 millions arm american citizens "this are light figures" this idiot muslims radicals well never control america . i worry more about getting kill in our local streets and highway from a simple auto accident than some stupid terrorist act . vehicle accidents kill a average of 400.000 americans each year . it took 10 years in vietnam to kill 58.000 do your math. in that case we might as well have a open war on motor vehicles and have all vehicles with giant I.D number painted across . now folks see how the goverment manage to make lots people real dumb = feed the rap music and MTV and dont let real teachers teach in school.
the thread went silent because I logged off, why is it significent? and the people who go around saying "fuck Law enforcement" are usualy the first at the desk in a Police station if they get mugged or raped or had there car stollen, I speak from vast personal experience, and to kill all Muslims isn't what I'm talking about, to do that isn't National security, its an act of stupidity, and I hav'nt said I agree with ID cards, but I want to look at both sides of the coin, is that a problem.
Plans are already underway to track the movements of every car in the UK too... http://news.independent.co.uk/uk/transport/article334686.ece There's a full-length version of the article somewhere but I couldn't find a link to it on this page. Also this link was on the same page: http://news.independent.co.uk/uk/transport/article334686.ece
no one has a problem with what you are saying, because this is a free speech forum, and that is why i do not want I.D. cards, i love freedom. i.d. cards take away a bit of that from me. i used the example of Muslims, because you said "whatever it takes". terrorism is both sided. except 'our' side are starting to give up what we are supposibly fighting for. we must stand firm and continue to believe in freedom and liberty not destroy our dream peacex
i have been saying that for the last 50 years . number 2 i own my own guns and have a conceal weapon license im not waiting for the cops to come around "thats is when ever" and file a report of my dead body. unless A star track mothership is flying above to beam down a cop in a split second im not going to wait around .
i think I.D cards are compleat bollocks and i for one will NEVER carry one on me because i know my own name thank you very much! and how will i.d cards stop terrorisum? guy going to bomb london hes almost there and the bomb is armed "Oh shit i forgot my id card best go home and get it" i rest my case Ash ==========================================================
this days 1 click of a mouse and they know everything about you. The I.D card is just as usefull as Hitler V-2 rockets against england in 1945.
one click of a mouse and they do not have all. they do not have my fingerprints, they have no iris scan of myself, my information given online could be false. we do have some freedoms, lets not kid ourselves and lose them peacex
but the government can't add that too my name on a huge database. they can't dust my local pub and say "oooooh we have found michael fingerprints finally for our evil database", i really hope they cannot and I am pretty sure they do not. peacex
i forgot to mention = your vehicle doors . finger prints are not that important knowing who you are is and computers are great for this.
sorry you havn't really explained anything you have said in any of your posts. what do vehicle doors have to do with anythings? i have no vehicle, but if i did, are you suggesting the government would come and get my fingerprints off at night?? sorry why are computers good for this, from my view, most people are not themselves online, they can be whoever they wish. the magical all powerful internet government doesn't know my details of my life. we need to stop being so paranoid and stop the real destuction of our liberty peacex
say what?? i think i may need some more details off you though? is my understanding of english so bad, i have only been in Wales a few months, i can't of lost my grasp of english grammatics already! peacex
