Three-headed’ woman stalks Navi Mumbai psyche

Believe it or not, residents of Kopar Khairane have been seized with the terror of a three-headed woman stalking the neighbourhood with supernatural powers. The fear felt by residents of sectors 2, 5, 6 and 8 is so intense that people are marking their doors with names of Lord Ram and three crosses to ward off the ‘monster’.

Though description of the woman varies, there seems to be a consensus that she has three heads, visits at night to prey on infants and small children, mimics voices with worrisome accuracy and death is instantaneous if anybody looked in the eye. Lanes and streets which used to buzz till late in the night look deserted with residents avoiding to venture out, apprehensive of meeting the devil. Residents of chawls behind the RF Naik College have stopped sleeping out in the open for the past one week. “People used to sleep out but once the scare seized them, no one dares,” said 40-year-old Shobha Pingle.

Even though Pingle readily dismisses it as rumour-mongering, she is not willing to take chances and has scribbled “Ram” and three multiplication signs on her door. The rumours only seem to be thickening in the air. “She knocked at my friend’s house two days ago between 2 and 4 am,” said 14-year-old Deepak Gupta, a resident of Sector 2.

“No one opened the door to invite death,” Gupta’s friend Tanmay chipped in. “I heard she comes through the backdoor, so I keep away from it and do not open it after dark,” said another Kopar Khairane resident Tejaswini Nimbalkar, 16.

Reacting to the reports, deputy commissioner of police Amar Jadhav said, “It is pure rumour-mongering.” He advised people to stop paying heed to scare stories. “Anyone found spreading rumours would be dealt with seriously,” he said, adding that the police were maintaining strict vigil to counter the rumours and ensure law and order.

This really cracked me up bwhahahahha....
Stupid Hindus expect the ghost to be able to read and write and turn back
    after reading Ram's name

I always knew India was a developing country but who would have expected our ghosts to be literate.....

It has nothing to do with the ghost being able to read. In every scripture it is said that the nama mahima is greater than even the lord himself. The potency of the names of the lord is extolled in every scripture of every religion.

Tulsidasji says jaani naam ajaani line naraka sura puramane - Whether the name is taken knowingly or unknowingly, it carries one beyond hell and heaven, straight to paramatma.

Faith can move mountains, faith can make boulders float in the ocean, faith can change a limited individual into the master of the entire universe. Faith in the name is enough to ward off any evil - jab janaki nath sahay kare tab kaun bigad kare nara tero? - When Sri Rama is on your side, who can harm you? Even all inauspicious astrological conditions become favourable to one who takes refuge in bhagwan. And what is the best thing is, even if such a person is attacked by any monster or has any amount of trouble, they are unaffected, for they are ever revelling in the Lord's glory.

Trayete iti mantraha - That which protects is called a mantra. And the most potent mantra is rama naama. See for yourself.

And who are you to judge anyone's intelligence? Do you know all that is to be known? Do you know 3 headed monsters dont exist in the universe? Do you know for a fact the potence of Rama mantra?

The so-called scientific minded folk are always thus blinkered in their vision. Thus was galileo tormented, for having a vision beyond the current intellectual scope. And so to do people continue to vilify and scorn that which they cannot fit into their limited understanding of the world.

It's surprising that people will believe in higher beings like gods but dismiss the existence of 'autonomous negative forces'. What western occultism terms 'astral' beings, and Sri Aurobindo classifies as beings of the lower vital plane. But I'm sure such things do exist. The way in which people percieve them varies according to the psyche of the people concerned I think, so it's no surprise that uneducated Indian people, with their rich and varied mythology, should see 3 headed women or similar things. If the same forces were manifest in a village in Poland, no doubt it would be seen or felt as the presence of the devil. In Yemen as the Jinn etc.
