Despite previous statements to the contrary, NASA administrator Michael Griffin has announced the cancellation of science missions to pay for the new manned spaceflight initiatives. :(

With all the billions pissed away in Iraq, we could have the shuttles replaced, astronauts back on the moon, Mars project well underway, AND enough left over to fully fund all the important science missions and other research projects....

I read one that said they were going to contract out the launches so the station could be finished...

Those weather and mapping satellites keep producing evidence that supports the theory of global warming. So if the budget for that research just happens to dry up, fewer pesky scientific studies for the administration to have to ignore, distort, or suppress, right? :)

Now if NASA would get their priorities right, and launch a satellite to take pictures of Jesus, and maybe give warning of the impending rapture, funding could certainly be found.

my friend they have plans to have neon lights orbiting in space and blow up pepsi signs is only the beginning. it is the ultimite ruin of free science can't you see? nasa makes such huge advances because the scientists who work there have a passion for it, and it is a dangerous and uncertain business there are ups and downs...take away nasa and you are slaughtering everything good and decent this country ever stood for, selling it out to the drooling elite to run amock. these whore mongoring global capatilists seee space merley as a big ass mine/tourist attraction. they are not worried about probing further in space than the asteroid belt.
