My precious ladies have been doing great, but suddenly the tips are dying. A quick look at my setup. White Widow seeds from BDS. Germinated in rockwool. Now in constant drip hydro system under 250 watt HPS and 2x40watt FL. Currently they are on a half strength Ionic nutrient solution. The lights are on 24/7. Very mild CO2 enrichment, 4 times daily. The temp ranges from 75-85. Temp only drops when I open the door. Humidity is steadily between 22-24%.

Any idea what is causing the tips to die? Your advice is apreciated. I tried to attach a pic, but apparently it's too large. I will try to get it small and re-submit. In the mean time, if any of you can help, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks,
    Widowmaker

    Hi all,
Thanks for your prompt responses. Turns out I don't have photoshop on my laptop, so I'll try my home computer this evening. In the mean time, I did a lot of searching on the web, and my girls mostly resemble pictures of nutrient burn. I used a half strength solution one week ago. Last night, I added 1 1/2 gallons of pure, distilled water to each pot. The solution should therefore be approximately 1/4 strength. Should I wait and see if the girls improve, or should I remove the nutrient solution and let me have plain water for a couple of days?

    Thanks again.

P.S. I'll post those pics ASAP.

I would say to just stay with giving them a very mild solution you cant go wrong with that. I just had that problem with a few ladies so i cut the nutes back and the problem stoped, another thing to consider is the quality of your tap water ph ppm that will screw things up quickley.

Pics are here, finally! The brown spots on my girls are staying the same, if not getting a little better.

For some reason the pic isn't showing on the post. You can see the first in my gallery. I will include more pics of the garden soon.

    Thanks again,

Several photos in my gallery now. The girls seem happy, but there is still some brown on some of the leaf edges. Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Widow

Hows your plants doing now, from those pictures I wouldn't worry just watch you don't overfertilise.

The girls are doing great. 6 weeks old and almost 3 feet tall. I'm going to check for pre-flowers today and if present, they will get 12/12 and new nutz. I've attached some photos.

Looking good, bet those other photos seem a long time ago. I'd put them straight into flowering. Remember even when you put them into flowering you still get another week or two of vegative growth You might out grow your room. Your lights will be struggling to reach those lower levels. But from the looks of it your got well under controll. Have yo topped one of those plants?

Yo, I don't know for sure what your problem might be, but you can improve greatly your setup by doing a couple of stuff [that could allow you to raise a little bit your lamp, thus helping your plants to cool a little...]

    >> you are using a mirror for light reflection, and your walls are brown... Mirror doesn't reflect the light very well, and it does not diffuse it. The brown sides eat up to 70% of the light.

I would recommend you to take away the mirror, and just paint all of your wall surfaces in matte white. Matte white is the best reflector in History :)

If you do so, you could raise a little your lamps AND have 5 times more light for your babies.

This will surely help, if not on your immediate problem of leaf burning, but on your overall growth.

    Cheers!
