That "Hippy" Look

haha walmart... not a good idea, i bet if you check the little tag there itll say "made in china and poor countries where we pay the kids 0.1$/day"

for me.. clothes, well... i wear my dads old clothes alot lol... the stuff he wore in the early 70's when he was my age.. its pretty cool, and i have a few pink floyd t's... and other t's, and in the summer i just wear sandals / shorts / t-shirt, perhaps a tie dye

 

I dress in a variety of ways, hippy, so-called preppy, girly-girl, whatever suites my mood or situation for the day. I don't dress with the fads, I dress in what I like. I'm me, I'm unique, and I embrace that individuality.

It's all what's within the heart and mind. You can dress a certain way but be nothing like the sterotypical label that is attached to it. Meaning, your threads can appear one way but you can be completely different inside. That goes both negatively and positively.

Fashion is only one trifle part of what makes up a person.

 

i go nude when itz warm enough, duh torist boats cume by the island an try to, "see the Hippzys" on the beach suntannin.

Personally, most of my wardrobe is from American Eagle, I have a John Mayer T shirt, some tank tops, about 800 flip flops that I wear year round (yes, even in the snow, well I take them to school to wear, I wear my clogs to school) and jeans. Thats it.

I've been told I'm a hippie because of my attitude, my political outlook and my general nature is very casual and carefree

 

I just roll out of bed and throw some clothes on. Why are all of you trying to fit a 'hippie' mold? You should have your own style....not what you THINK you should wear because it's the 'hippie' thing to do.

 

Ahaha. My friends call me the flipflop slut. I have more flipflops than I know what to do with. I wear mine in the snow. They're just comfortable.

 

i just wear jeans, n a shirt(usually band shirt(60's 70's band)) n a hemp bracelet.

but my hair makes up for the lack of hippie in my clothes

 

I usually just wear some button up long sleeve colared shirt with a sweater over it and a pair of jeans. I've got a variety of T's and polo's though.

 

I guess this will always be a hot topic among the teenager youth...clothing and what makes it be..and what makes you..and all the balancing inbetween and stuggling to be socially correct....But it tires me...

I was just stating an opinion on the matter. I have alot of friends who discuss the same thing backward and forward.

that could apply to almost anyone who isnt buying new clothes every week man, but i understand you. yea i wear old worn jeans, usually worn out band shirts or tie dyes. and if its not a tye dye shirt than i usually dawn my trusty old red flannel.cause most my other band shirts are black. nirvana, zeppelin, other nirvana, my bob marley is brown, sex pistols is black, yea. tye dye deosnt look good in flannel. but my flannel has giant holes on teh elbows. ive worn it almost every day this fall and winter and them on saturday i go out to smoke and when i come down in Mc Donalds, i notce 2 giants holes on my elbows that werent there this morning. and no bruses or scrapes to indicate how it happened. im so confused!

but back to the real subject yea people in my school call me a hippy.im gonna get some sandals wen it gets warmer. right now i just have my worn out skate shoes

 

I like to wear hippy because they are comfortables,and all the clothes that i wear must be comfortables.

I like jeans and band t-shirts (Beatles,Pink Floyd),t-shirts that has a message (something about preserve the nature,for example),etc
Well,i never wear something just because everybody is wearing. If i bought,i felt fine with it.

 

I dress how i want. Life is like a game of dress up sometimes. I have the crazy metal hillbillie look sometimes, sometimes i look like a pirate, sometimes i look like a barbarian, sometimes like tribal chieftan. AND SOMETIMES, i look like a dirty hippy.

I like to look like me.

 

I guess you could Say my Style is 60's-80's style.. really depending on what i want to wear. usualy Bare foot or Sandals... if its winter il wear some Old school shoes. MY pants can be manythings i guess Brown to green to Jean Bell bottem flares to Pants with Crazyy patterns. Ive been trying to find some flared cords.. but im having no luck haha! I am always wearing my massiv hemp necolase and sometimes but on a beaded one or another hemp one..and most of my shirts are comfortable, and bright or a simple band T-shirt.. hmm i dono really depends how i feel and want to feel that day.

i Dono i Try not to let my clothes Define what im like.. But its kinda just how my mind picks stuff off the shelf. I don't try and sterotype my self.... but like i dono i guess im just Me.

-i think that i dress like me. And yea i do look like a hippie haha. but i mean its just how im comfortable. I usually wear a tshirt like a grateful dead, sci, tiedye shirt or somethin... ill wear jeans mostly or a patchwork skirt or pants and i usually have a hoodie on too. then i wear my brown gallaz. idk they look like skater shoes haha

When I first got into the hippy lifestyle over 10 years ago I wore the cloths because (like most 11 year old kids) I thought that was what you where supposed to do in order to be cool. This past year however I tried other cloths for about 7 mos as I went threw a faze and to be honest "hippy" clothes are just way more comfortable man! If you think about it a "hippy's" whole thing is about being laid back,close to nature and, comfortable. Those type of clothes allow that. All people dress to reflect outside whats inside so I think if your a hippy its just natureal.
