How are gays in your area treated? I'm curious. Where I live, it's fine. Everyone at school is cool with me being gay. I don't really announce it, I've just told my friends, and it goes around, (small town, haha), and sometimes it comes up in conversation. But it's cool. The only problem I've ever heard of was our principal not letting a guy taking his boyfriend to prom- something I'll change when I'm a senior (as long as there's a guy I want to bring). If that means protesting, petition-signing, getting the community to send e-mails (I know people will support me), then I'll do it. I'm lucky to live where I live- but I also live in a bubble, because I know that the rest of the world isn't always like my town, which I'll discover first-hand some day, I'm sure. Anywho, how about you guys? Cheers, and Love, Dylan
Here in my hometown in Newfoundland, Canada, it's accepted fairly well also. Although there will always be homophobes where ever you are, but there are a lot of kind caring people out there, that helps forget about the people that are not as accepting.
things are pretty accepted in the artsy allentown area. elsewhere around town, a kid was beaten severelly for being gay. to each his own.
hmm i think in my city- or my neighbourhood it wouldnt be accepted so good. Im not a gay but i realy tolerate it and im realy happy if people accept their sexual preferance. When we talk about it at school there are also guys who arent as cool with it. Most people here are still very much under 'christian' influence and look at it as something 'unnatural', which is very wrong IMO. Also anal sex is threated the same around here. In general i would say the population is split up, with the part which is against all other sexual things dominating. sad...
yeah, it's true that there will always be people out there who want to bring you down- you have to choose whether to let it bring you down, or to ignore it and think about hte people who DO care for you, because even though it may not seem like it at times, there is ALWAYS someone who cares for you. Cheers, and Much Love, Dylan
I live in a small town (twin cities total population 140,000) and a large university (42,000 students) and this is the most homophobic place, VERY conservative, VERY right wing, VERY pro-republician and ANTI-liberal. In general the people are very friendly, they hold the door open for others, say thank you and hello to strangers and just very community oriented.
