I went and saw Capote last night. I thought Phillip Seymore Hoffman was AMAZING, and the film was technically better than Walk the Line. But I just didn't enjoy watching this movie as well as Walk the Line. In fact, I'm not entirely sure why Capote was nominated for Best Film. I think I would have given a nod to The Constant Gardner, Syriana or Match Point over Capote. I really did like the film. I just don't think I loved it as much as some of the other worthies this year.
i saw the movie this evening, At first i thought i might not like it. But It is actually quite a good film to see... if you have the chance. Its a little slow i thought.. but its not Too too slow. I dono if i like it more than Walk the line but they are 2 somewhat different stories.. Walk the line might appeal to most people more becuse it has music and isn't as depressing as Capote. But i guess the decision is up to you.. You simple just have to watch it.
I'm going to see it tomorrow. I hope I like it. I like hoffman a lot (especially in Happiness ) So we'll see! p.s. i HATED syriana !
Yah I liked it. I couldn't help but feel that something was missing. But it's totally worth seeing just for Hoffman's performance alone.
I enjoyed Capote. Its a window into a lost world of The Literate in the 1950's The Film stuck to its story line: The creative process of a true life crime novel. It would have been easy to tangent-off but the film kept its tight disipline.
