lol... no it's hot.. I've placed it on the desktop so my hushabnd can also follow along. We don't really hide the fact that we smoke it. I don't care if anyone knows. I mean I don't talk about it at work or anything. I wouldn't deny it. Isn't it ok to have up to 15 grams for personal use? As long as you're not traffiking then you can only get fined ...............
Okay where for 15 grams? Not in America. You get caught with that without a script for it you'll have a lot of unwanted bullshit to deal with.
Hahaha i smoke im 15 , just tell her its...Magical medicine needed by grown up or teenagers... or dont tell her anything she will learn about it at school and if shes 10 she might even forget about it , unless she knew what it was already or had a little clue when i was 10 i knew that weed was , we learned about drugs since grade 4. I live in Ontario =D gotta love canada... YES ITS IN CANADA >.< Who ever asked if ontario is in canada... Yes sir!!!
canada sounds sick why do i always hear that lots of american people bag it out it seems a way nicer place to live
Dakota's Mom refered me to this great book about weed, written for children. It is hard to get now, but you can read it online. It is very respectful, and very honest, and appropriate for children. I read it to my six year old the other day. www.justaplant.com You can also get it at Amazon.com, but there is a 4-6 week waiting period.
Very interesting. Not once did the parents mention to their daughter that it was illegal. She had to hear it from a police officer watching four men get cuffed but then let go. So knowing it's illegal and that her parents still do it even though they are not abiding the law....what does that teach our children?
I'll admit the book may not be for all parent's taste. That's OK. If you don't like it, there are others. I think the book is a good deal more honest than anything my first child "learned" in DARE, which was nothing but lies. The book DID explain the weed is against the law, in fact, it made such an impact on the child in the book, that she decided she wanted to work to change unfair laws when she got big. I think it explained the law adequately. But, it is a personal decision to read the book or not. I don't read Dr Seuss, he gets on my nerves. But, it's up to you. No presssure, it's just a book. You can read it to your kids ot not. Not that big of a deal. Thomas Jefferson, the Father of Our Country said, "If a law is unjust, it is not only a man's right to break that law, it is his responsiblity to do so." But, there are good reasons for NOT wanting to break the law. The biggest of which is the loss of college money. Which I think is a fascist idea, in the first place. But, most parents do explain that to their kids. The child in the strory was too young to discuss college finance plans, I think, and the book was long enough. Personal tastes, I guess, not a big deal.
Thank you for posting the link for the book. I should of said that in my earlier post. I did send the link to my husband. We are going to discuss it when he comes home. At some point the conversation with our children will come up. I want to have some materials on hand so that we can have an educated conversation and one they will understand once they are older. I haven't heard what DARE is teaching the children in schools. Mine are still very young and haven't even mentioned DARE.
Each family needs to make their own decision on how they will handle the "I smoked pot, now how do I tell my kids this." Thing. This book may be just too over the top for some. Whatever works for you is great. I hate DARE. It is lies, with a few truths thrown in, which, in the opinion of many, is the embodiment of evil. THere have been studes which have shown that kids, especially boys, who take DARE are MORE likely to abuse drugs. Google it, there are some interesting things about it. One of which is that NO ONE, not teachers parents or anyone else, is allowed to see the Cuiriculum at all. Rollling Stone did a great article on it some years ago.
Hey thank you for that link! That is going to be very useful!!!!!!! I had to laugh that the parents are so groovy. The part about the guys getting arrested will bring up some conversation that is touchy but I think I can handle it. It mentions the good and bad without getting too ugly. I liked it, and thanks again! Jess and no you can have pot for personal use unless you are driving a vehicle... the coppers have bigger fish to fry with meth and crack here where I live.............
Canada is an amazing place to live , i love it its sorta like america weed is still ILLEGAL! ... but!! i belive you cant go to jail if u have under a certin amount but ur still bookeed.
right you will get a fine ... like having open liquor on the beach or something but you will not do time.
I just read that on the website. It's well written, especially about a difficult topic to teach kids about appropriately. It did a good job of portraying pot smokers as regular people, and teaching kids that they are good role models. The illustrations are fun and trippy...
That's not really good advice. Wouldn't we like to live in a society where people can balance enjoying themselves with having responsibilities, and have the freedom to make their own choices without everyone judging them?
hi im J, im 17 and i caught my dad when i was 12. I really wouldnt of cared (i got some free WEED!!) i guess it depends what your daughters like... if shes a smart A student type it might make her really angry and sad. but if shes like a "badass 10 yr old." i dont think it will really get to her. I was smoking when i was 10, and the reason is that my parents never really told when i should experiment with them. They told me that drugs were bad and that was it. I think that you should tell her about what age it is write to try.. and that some people live very normal lives smoking pot. thanks J
what do you mean by "going up"? quitting would be good advice .... but that's not the question. we have saved the book on the desktop, we like it and are waiting for the right time. not when we're buzzzed lol.
