This came up in another forum I frequent. Red bull is vegan. Go to their FAQ. It says there are no animal ingredients/derivatives. This was just in case you were wondering. If this has already been posted elsewhere, sorry. Happy Drinking.
That is correct. The questionable ingredient in Red Bull is taurine, which is (ironically enough) usually derived from bulls. However, the taurine used in Red Bull is either synthesized or plant-derived, and thus it is vegan.
I have GOT to tell my husband! He loves the stuff, and if I tell him it's vegan he's just gonna flip Me, I just don't "get" energy drinks... all that caffeine gives me the jitters, and those weird additives make them taste like cough syrup. love, mom
A much better energy drink is Bawls, a nice guarana drink. One will have you wired. Two and you won't be able to sleep for 24 hours. Once, I went to a gaming LAN party. I had 4 bawls and about 12 mountain dew livewires. By the end of the party, I was literally shaking so badly that I couldn't even aim to play the games. I was easily close to overdosing on caffeine, and I'm never going to be that stupid again. But like, I couldn't even hold my mouse straight enough to shut down my computer properly, lol. I did stay awake for 36 hours though.
(shaking head) MEN!!! What is it with finding the creepiest, most highly caffeinated beverage known to man, and seeing how many it takes to make a complete nutcase of yourselves? My husband is no stranger to this either. He and a few of his bestest friends used to sit around having espresso-wars to see who could hold the most coffee! Euggh! Please excuse me, my dainty 24-oz "teacup" is running dry; I need a peach-ginseng tea refill love, mom
Lately I have really been digging the 'Rock Star' energy drinks, they really do give a burst of energy ... nice to have when your working 3rd shift.
Oh yes, Rock Star... he likes that one too! Then again, the poor guy works 80 hours per week and his biggest flaw is an odd diet, supplimented with copious amounts of caffeine. That's just not much to complain about, is it I love him to bits, but his dietary choices make me cringe! love, mom
this is such good news. I thought red bull had the bad kind of taurine and during my late night study sessions, how i have longed for it. now it's drinkable again! i feel like doing a Napoleon Dynamite style heck yesssss!
Thanks for the info. I had always wondered, but was sure Red Bull was veggie. I am a long distance truck driver and drive through the night. When my eyes start to close and I drift into other lanes, thats when Red Bull gives me the lift I need. It is a cool drink and definitely makes you alert.
I've always sort of wondered that. Definitely good news! Hooray for a wired finals week coming up, lol! ~Nova
yuck I hate energy drinks, way too sweet...lots of coffee and tea and lately these diet pills is enough for me. actually I'm done with the diet pills because they make me NUTS!!! The other day was totally ruined because I took like 4 of them on top of coffee and was having these insane panic attacks for like...the whole day. It was awful, I completely lost it. Yeah, caffeine in general is just not good for you. But I can't get enough coffee, yerba mate, and green chai/echinacea tea mixes. Slowly trying to swap tea for coffee more often. Wow I've gone way off subject here.
Panik- Many diet pills are dangerous for your heart. Please don't take them! Just lower your food with white sugar (god I love sweets, it's hard to do, I know) and rplace them with fruits. You can also get whole wheat pasta instead of regular. Be sure you are getting enough whole food and go on a walk or something. I am sure you don't need the diet pills anyway.
Good to know. Someone left a Redbull in my fridge, so I drank it this morning for a buzz. I don't think I'll be drinking it again for a while, its got a nasty taste.
I used to drink Red Bull constantly.... I've come to the conclusion it's probably not all that good for you. I started getting so sick---as in, I had MORE frequent panic attacks, I got irregular heart beats constantly--sometimes it felt like my heart was going to beat right out of my chest...and my pulse and blood pressure got higher by the day. As soon as I stopped drinking it, within like a week, I felt MUCH better. Personally..... I think it's terrible for you, but that's just my opinion.
I know what you mean about the caffeine/coffee. I get constant panic attacks if I drink anymore than one cup of coffee a day.... but sometimes I just can't resist. I LOVE coffee... I suppose I could switch to decaf, after the A.M. hours, so I can get the taste but not the jitters. That sounds like a plan, actually---I'm on a roll today.
