*raising hand* I was raised Pagan. I love sharing spirituality with my children...I see them glow from following our Pagan path.
there are no wrong reasons, IMO. We all have our own reasons. I do agree with you that doing the opposite of what your parents wanted you to do out of rebellion is just as bad as blindly following them. I see that a lot here in the "buckle of the bible belt" - as I'm sure you do as well. but if that leads anyone to finding the truth that lies inside their own hearts, it cannot be a bad thing. It's a first step for many young people. just like how my mom was the daughter of a minister, married a minister, and then divorced him and became UU in direct opposition to how she was raised, I have rebelled against not only my early xtian background, but the UU as well, and in that process found my own spirituality that was always there, inside me. yeah, I think so too. We really do seem to agree more than not, it's just we choose to use different words to express those ideas.
I think that i will let my chirldren decide what religion (or philosophie) that they want to choose. Just like my mother who never gave me a middle name, she let me pick my middle name.
