new here, just a question

hey guys. i'm new here, so if i dont do this right, dont get on my back!

i have a question about getting a job as a pot smoker. right now i'm searching for a job. normally i'd go through about an ounce a week, but i have stopped completely so that i can flush out my system. a lot of the jobs i'm applying for require a drug test, so i just dont want to take any chances. the thing i'm wondering about is: if i do get a job from one of those places, how likely is it that i'd have to keep getting tested? i mean, how common is it for an employeer to check up on his staff after they've initially passed the test and stuff?

 

Pretty common actually.
I wouldn't affiliate yourself with companies that restrict your personal freedoms like that though.

 

as far as i know most places just give the initial test. but my knowledge is very limited ive only had 2 jobs in my whole life.

 

It really depends on the job mama. Most companies that do give drug tests, will only test once. If you're doing good work, why would the company waste its money giving you tests on a regular basis?

Still, my advise is to stay clean for a while after you get the job. Ask the other employees if/when they get drug tested, and keep this in mind before you start smoking again. Good luck.

 

like napalm said, the best way is to talk to someone who works there. when i got a job at stop 'n shop, they asked if i was willing to take a drug test, which i would have said no to, but my buddy told me that they never test as long as you tell em you're willing to be tested. never did get tested.

 

An ounce a week is an unbelievable amount of weed to smoke, while most jobs do only test at the beginning, I would still think cutting down from that amount would be a good idea permanantly.

To answer your question, very few jobs actually test randomly after the hiring test, and only about half or less of companies even do that, most will reserve the right to test you randomly, but don't.

 

an ounce a week isnt that much, about an 8th a day...well its a lot more than i do but its not unbeleivable..

well im 17 and i got hired at circuit city at 16 somehow. i was the only one who ever got drug tested in the whole store. i guess its my long hair but now i have dreadlocks and everyone knows i smoke so i dont think ill get drug tested but if you do just be clean for 2 days and get some detox it works well.

 

When you get hired, they should tell you what their testing policy is. Some companies test randomly, some only if you are screwing up (always late or look stoned), lots of companies will test you if you have an accident.

 

i once heard that at the hieght of his smokey years Snoop Dogg would smoke a ounce a day.
