Uhhhh... I went to San Antonio once and it was kinda deserty looking. Other than that I've only been in East Texas... Mostly just around Houston.. Dunno where people get all this crap about cowboys and such.

try moving to Canada instead, if you want large cheap housing. Especially Manitoba or Saskatchewan. Alberta is a bit more expensive, but not terribly so, and there's still quite a bit of space to spread out on
