I loved this film, the soundtrack is beautiful, the film itself is beautiful and there is a bit of everything in the film. Dark humour, sadness, love *sighs* it's just such a work of art.
Anyone else seen it or a fan?

I was I told I would have to watch it many MANY times before I fully appreciated Amelie.

So after renting it on good ol' fashioned VHS, I now have it downloaded on my pc.

Would turning on the English language settings on dvd spoil it, do you think?

    That's my next move..

Hmmmmmm I'm not sure, you should just give it a go.
Sometimes they can enhance a film, change the tone or whatever. Take "Ichi The Killer" liveaction version. When you watch it with subtitles it's a really dark and sinister sort of film. When you watch it with the English dubbing, it's bloody hilarious.

It was odd watching Amelie cause there were a few characteristics she had that I completely saw in myself. I loved the movie and thought it was charming.
