After you consider how cheap things were back then . the kinds of concerts and parties and cheap drugs at today inflation rate they lived like the rich today except they had far more fun with far less restrictions . even the early 70s was still a bargain.
Cigarettes were 45 cents from a machine (cheaper at stores), gas was about 35 cents a gallon (cheaper or slightly more expensive depending how far you were from a pipeline terminal), treatment for gonorrhea and syphilis was free, an ounce of pot was $15 (if you knew the dealer, $20, if you didn't),a newspaper was 10 cents and a blowjob from a street-whore was $5-- not that I had first-hand experience--a little birdy told me so. TWEET! TWEET!
i only cought the very end of the 60s but had my fun in early 70s and prices were not far from the 60s an ounce of pot was still $25.00 quality did vary . gas was still close enough so were concert tickets , i did not smoke cigarrets until i was late 19 . My First Honda 350cc SL was only $916.00 and was both street and off road .
I meet a few real Hippies but this area was far from the ideal hippie place so soon after the 1970s they were exclusively in the coconut grove area . even tho i had a bike i did not venture much there since theres was enough were i was .
So, you're from Florida. Stay away from old hippies-- I hear they rape young boys (and girls) and like to club fur seal pups. Don't believe me? Just ask Teepi or Skip--THE SUPER MODERATOR. Skip clubs kittens, too-- in fact, I'm sending him a box-load by UPS, today. Check is in the mail, Skip.
A year ago, I only owned 2 cats-- a big, mean ole tom cat and a sweet, female who never had had any kittens. All of a sudden, she had a litter of four, which I gave away. Then, she had a litter of five, only one of which I gave away. Now, the goddamn hussy is preggie again! I can't believe it-- what happenned? Three litters in less than a year. I guess I'll have to pay to get her fixed, which pisses me to no end.
