    Alright...

(A little background): I've always been very into dreams and dreams analysis. When I was little, I used to have terrifying nightmares. As I got older, they came less frequently. When I get stressed out, I don't sleep much.

It has been about a week now. I can barely sleep, I'm wide awake most of the night. And when I do sleep, I've been having the most horrible nightmares I've ever had. They're always different, except I know there's some supernatural force trying to kill me. Sometimes, during the nightmares, I wake up. I tell myself it was just a dream and try to calm down. Then, I lay back down and fall right back into the dream. It happens everynight, all night. I'm scared to sleep, and am having trouble sleeping as it is.

I admit that I'm rather stressed with university right now and my best friend/roomate and I have been fighting. But, I'm finding it hard to believe that small amount of stress is having this effect on my sleeping and dreams. I am literally terrified the whole time I'm asleep, and for quite a while after I wake up.

Is there anything I can do? Does anyone have any advice? Comments? Anything would be greatly appreciated. I just can't take much more of this...:(

Maybe it is the stress keepin you up, and being overtired (from no sleep) may be affecting your head......I used to have these nightmares of satan and spirits trying to pull me down , I'd wake up and my heart would be pounding,Over the years it sort of went away.....dont know why......Well maybe you can try an Over the counter sleep aid I dont how effective or safe they are. I really wish I could be of more help to you...[IMG]

    I just appreciate the reply!

My mother has suggested trying an over-the-counter sleeping pill. I'm a little worried, though, because I've never taken them before and I have a huge exam tomorrow, that I absolutely can't be "groggy" for.

You'll be VERY groggy. Forget the pills - they don't work for me. Exercise, a light meal (no heavy foods), a warm to hot shower, clean sheets on the bed and the air conditioner set to 72 do it for me. Don't watch tv for an hour before going to bed, read something interesting in bed, cat-stretch before turning off the lights. Then be prepared to sleep for 9 to 9.5 hours.

I use to have horriable nightmares too. The thing i found that helped though was a dream catcher. I don't know if i even use it right, i just have it hung up in my bedroom. every now and then i blow into it some. maybe it just had a placebo effect, but then again, maybe it didn't.

I've always had a dream catcher (I used to make my own), but it doesn't seem to be working right now. Last night, I got a lousy sleep but *hurrah* no nightmares!!! Maybe they're starting to leave...:)

while you're out there in that garden (or walking along the road if you know what it looks like), pick some wild mint and put it under your pillow. that none of us are always the biggest kid on our block, even in our dreams is something we just sometimes have to live with.

there's not too much else i can tell you other then there's not all that much out there that intends us any harm, other then other people like ourselves, though this isn't always obvious that's what they are.

there's some stuff going on right now, that governments are doing, exparimenting with stuff they think they know more about then they do. i don't think it's so much as poking something that's unhappy about being poked as there own blundering itself that could be what is intruding on them, your dreams that is.

i only 'know' about it in the sense of having stumbled on it in my own dreaming, and i could of course be misinterpreting what is going on, but whenever, the few times lately, i've run into invisible things i can't in my dreams move myself, there's always a kind of 'grey suit', you know like minor government functionary, feel about them.
