Sweet looking piece. You shouldn't need to clean it very often (once a year?)

Soak it in warm water overnight. No soap. A rubbing alcohol rinse at the end should clean it bare. Wait for the alcohol to evaporate completly before smoking.

Unlike glass, metal and wood don't benifit from being squeeky brand-new clean. After a few uses, a layer of compacted ash lines the bowl, adding insulation. The stem gets a layer of resin which mellows the smoke. With a wide stem like that, it should be a long time until it gets clogged. If the mouthpiece unscrews, do so every so often and rinse the mouth piece.

A word of warning, it looks like the chamber between the bowl and mouthpiece could be filled with bud. I wouldn't use it to carry bud. The bud gets nasty sticky from the smoke. It doesn't work well.

Good piece. May it serve you often and well.

worked for me , only me and my good friend went to get it ... also

ya how long do i wait for it to evaporate? and by rince u mean just pore some rubbing alchoal in a cup and dip the pipe in .. or take it apart and drop it in the cup for a couple of seconds?

ALSO ,, how often should i change filters? i have 5 that came with the pipe ... and im curious to change it every 2 times i smoke or ... 3 .... i dont want it to be really dirty but i dont wanna waste a filter everytime i blaze

If its hard to draw, its time to clean (this won't be a problem with your pipe). Otherwise, wait until it starts to taste nasty, maybe every two months or so.

By filter, do you mean the metal screen at the bottom of the bowl? If so, use it until it clogs. Then take it out, set it on fire (use tongs), work it back and forth and re-use it. Depending on your use, you clean a screen every month-ish. Re-use them until big holes develop.

Let me add one more thing. Metal, ceramic and wooden pipes are earthier than the glass, bong, vaporizer style of smoking. Think "camping" clean not "surgery" clean.

ya im talking about that screen so all i do is take a lighter and light it untill it cleans?? wont it clean if u put it in water? Or i just take the lighter and it should burn away all the black stuff?

also! how long till the alchohal evaporates??

Ah im just still confused about the screens/filters.... if i light it in the middle it should clean? becasue i personally think buying millions of filters is a waste of money... so i can reuse them?? Is that the only method.. or can i soak it in hot water?

hold the filter with tongs of some type and heat to a extreme

this will make the resin brittle and dry bind the screen back and forth the resin will crack and fall off

don't use water its more trouble than it's worth.

wow, I remember back in the early 90s....we all had our own metal pipes, like that one.

The advice here has been good, just clean it out if it tastes funky or has trouble drawing.
Some people like to use little instruments (like straightened paperclips and the like) to pull all the resin out and smoke it. Personally, I've always felt that that was more trouble than it's worth...but if you do decide to do that (everybody does at least once) I recomment having some bud on hand as well. Once you've got some sticky, stinky resin balls laid out on something, like glossy magazine paper or something else, stick 'em on a ball of bud. Smoking straight resin is just nasty.

I also agree that loading the chamber with bango is not a good idea. Again, it just ruins the taste, and it's not as if it comes out like super-skunk....just stinks and tastes pretty disagreeable.

    Enjoy!
